Well, I`m a guy and enjoyed it very much, sequels were somewhat weaker though.
I have seen real complaints about LiS Before the Storm (like it's less interactive and more predictable than LiS1), so maybe don't play that one.
This is why I don't like a lot of JRPGs. I recommended Final Fantasy 7 because the storytelling/grind ratio is pretty good, and grinding in Undertale is completely optional.
If you can stomach a little bit of thriller and horror here and there I think Prey (2017) leaves a story that you wish you could forget and do blind again. It also helps that you are free to make many decisions on your own as the player character.

I'll also recommend the modern Deus Ex games for a similar reason, Human Revolution & Mankind Divided. Those games have a lot of story, similarly collectibles and plenty of visual storytelling in their worlds if you choose to explore around them. The former especially has a fantastic dystopian atmosphere. It's almost been long enough now that I might give Human Revolution another playthrough practically blind again just to experience those choices and decisions about transhumanism another time.
