Should I download Epic Games Store?
Hi guys. I know we are on Steam, but I wanna ask something important. If some games are exclusively on Epic Games Store, like Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero for example who all 3 games are exclusively on Epic Games Store and not on Steam, should I download it Epic Games Store as second launcher? And I don't know if it worth, I never used Epic Games Store and I don't know how to use it. I'm a main Steam user for years. But do y'all have Epic Games Store as second launcher? And if it's yes, do y'all keep both Steam and Epic Games Store as launchers? Epic Games Store looks complicated because there are many ways to continue with accounts. Like Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, Google, Apple, and other. But I linked my PSN account on Epic Games since I tried Rocket League or Fortnite for the first time, I don't remember. And what advantages do I get if I continue with Steam or PlayStation? Did changes something? Besides, I have PS5 lol.

What a weird question. If you want to play them now - yes. Otherwise... Maybe? If you want it on your PC, yes? If not, no.

You gave bad examples, as those Free to Play games have their own launcher and do not need the third party client at all.

If you want to play the games, then you need to install the software.

For now, I've only collected the freebies, but never played them -- so, no Epic client on my box yet. But, that's me.

All three games you listed are free to play, they have their own launchers as well if you go to their main website can download the game via their own launcher. So don't have to use Epic at all if don't want to.

Epic is just another store like GoG, Steam, and etc...

I have epic for weekly free games. Some of them were actually good. Also Amazon/Twitch Prime gives even more free Epic games.

I personally don't have an epic account and don't want to use it for a hole host of reason.

Make whatever ACC u want and play whatever games u want

I have Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA App on my laptop and I don't regret it. All 3 have games on them that I like.

At the end of the day it shouldn't be a question of asking others if it is OK. I use them because I like the ability to use all three if I choose to.

Until they bring back some semblance of Unreal Tournament I won't exactly be happy with them, though. That is arguably the best games Epic created. Hopefully they were being honest when they said they were redoing Unreal tournament Black and bringing back as a free to play game. I loved playing it on my PS3 and is one of the few MP games I actually enjoy playing.

As stated by others the 3 games you listed have their own launchers and I'd probably use those before installing EGS. If you are interested in other games they have, though, then that is a different story.

Do what you feel is best for you.

"Should i download chinese spyware?"
You REALLY have to ask?

Hi guys. Thanks for answering me. But those 2 guys named Pierce Dalton and Lazy say that chinese will have all my data and chinese spyware. I'm a little worried... I don't know if they're referring about Epic Games Store or these 3 games I listed. But let's remember that Dead Island 2 was available only exclusively on Epic Games Store, but now after all these years, the developers decided to release it on Steam like Watch Dogs Legion and Saints Row Reboot (2022). That's why I asked it. But I don't know if should I believe these 2 guys, it's hard to believe since some discussions on Steam people only lie and troll with me. But I wanna have all explanations and answers, if y'all know about Epic Games Store better than me, I'm ready to listen and read your comments.

Don't go binary on "yup, trust those guys" or "don't". Instead, take the information you were given as a pointer to the start of your own research. Yes, there has been controversy around the EGS and yes, Epic is effectively a Chinese company. However, that doesn't mean blind panic is justified. Look it up yourself, there's enough stuff about all of this out there. Look for it!

Wow really?? I never knew that. I played Fortnite years ago on PlayStation and I didn't know that Epic was a Chinese company. I did a Google search and yes, Tencent does own Epic Games... I know Tencent years ago, it's the same developer and company that made PUBG Mobile. But now Tencent is on Steam, that developer released Metal Slug Awakening on Steam. I'm really shocked. Well thank you so much for telling me. Now I really have a reason not to download Epic Games Store. Not to be racist, but I don't get along with a Chinese company like NetEase. I hope new games like Prince of Persia come to Steam too.
