Steam Market Scam

[Reaper Scythe]

Someone reached out to me on Discord attempting to track me down for what appears like a Counter-Strike 2 purchase. I have never used the Market for buying anything ever.

Discord user: patotoya316_43440 using the name zeus contracted me on Discord. It appears he just made that account as well. I saved the image and conversation as well but im not sure how I report this to Steam. If someone is using my account likeness to commit scams that worries me.

Here was our conversation;

I didnt list anything though so not sure why that says I did
My market history doesnt show any of that. Sounds like someone is trying to impersonate people.
I find it odd that they show my image and current account name. When you click on the profile whats the URL?

You should open a Steam ticket. That is not my account but it appears as if it is. I checked my inventory and I have never nor currently have that Counter-Strike item. I have also never purchased anything on the Steam market place.

I have also just opened up a ticket and sent all this information to Steam. Well see what shakes out BUT you never clicked on the profile and sent me the link. Each profile has a unique link and I want to know what profile that links to from your image.

Thanks, I have blocked him on discord and reported him. His image he supplied didn't show his account name so I can't report him to steam.

Just in general.
Nothing any stranger could ever tell you, be it on discord or steam, or even anywhere else is ever legit. They're all scams.

No free giftcards, no reports, no markettransaction talks, no trades, no votings for whatever someone claims, no logins on other websites using steams login data, no steamadmins will ever contact you either, nothing.

Your account and anything to do with it, is always 100% safe, unless you fall for any of these things.
