Coould you guys ban freaking Banana game ?
This << Banana >> game scam is pathetic and just unfunny. What's the point ? Does Gabe like the idea of making money on the back of scammers ? We all need to show to the steam company this should not be legal and tolerated.

No, I'm saying you're trying to fight a scuffle in outrage, whilst not partaking in the war.

Lead and other harmful chemicals leeching into soil from tech landfills is much more harmful than a banana game.

Or crypto mining, MUCH larger of a power use/energy waste than the banana game.

Or that corporations make for like 90% of the air pollution. Or that even renewables like solar, still have toxic byproduct.

The fight you've chosen is such a small scale, in the grand scheme of things. We're finding microplastics in small bottom-dwelling creatures in the Mariana Trench but no...banana game bad.

The oceans are dying for example, you know, where we get MOST of our oxygen.
You know your argument is of the type: you could always be doing better so might as well not do it. Hopefully you are not cynical enough to propose it. I'm trying to get into a positive industry, I hope so are you, but again, this line of reasoning is not helpful.
I'm more pointing out in the grand scheme of things you've made a mountain out of a molehill while Everest looms right behind you.

If you wanted to make a difference, you'd be tackling an issue that actually makes an impact. Not throwing insults on Steam.

You nor I get to say whether it exists or not. This isn't your call or mine. Nor is this your or my platform.

Here's a novel concept. Don't play if you don't like it.
Listen dude, I already answered this ♥♥♥♥ argument. I'm also asking your opinion pretending naivete but you aren't even trying. The simple fact is: there is absolutely zero reason for this existing. You will ask 1000 people and none of them will have a reason. It's purely destructive. It brings no one happiness as it is not a game. It creates no memories. It's incomparable to any game or any cultural artefact. It only exists because it can. It only exists because the law hasn't caught up.

Your relativist argument doesn't work since you will not find a single person in the world with a heartfelt argument why this thing is something positive. And I already told you why it's terrible ecologically. Either bring an argument from any person in the whole world why this is genuine or stop speaking in generalities that you repeat for everything to excuse yourself from thinking and feeling.
YOU do not dictate what is or isn't put on the store. Did you pay the $100 or did the devs? I don't understand where this thinking comes from? What? Because you're a customer?

126 games in 15 yeas? Whoa. Stand back, everybody. Here's a a fact. There is ZERO reason for this to even be an issue.

No one?

Not your game, not your money that put it on the store, not your problem.

You're trying so hard for your opinion to matter and I hate to tell you this but, it doesn't.

You know how many games there are on Steam?

101, 035 as of May 2024 and I gaurantee you that there's enough Steam users (125 million active accounts) to hate every single game. So, by your logic, they should all be pulled? No.

You worry about what you consider a viable game and let everyone else do the same.

I think the mountain wasn't made by me but by them, it all depends on who is right ultimately. Surprised you are going after me and not them though.

In general I disagree with you though, taking on 400k computers on 24/7 is actually TOO grand for a single person. If a single person could solve such issues alone, we wouldn't have climate change lol. Also I understand this industry more than other industries and feel more confident in my opinions. I'm in this post only because it was the first post that popped up in Google of something akin to a petition that I wanted to partake in.

That's about me, what about you, why are you fighting me in particular when you could be doing something else or arguing alongside me? :)
This topic is not a petition nor will it get the game removed from the store.

Every game and DLC has a little flag on its' store page. Guess what it's for?

That's how you report games....not by making threads.

Primarily because I don't feel this outrage is genuine, more something phoned in in hopes of collecting a few little awards.

Great news: It does not have any fake ([bad word]) to earn money and leave people to loose concentration and etc.....

But yeah at least you should target the money farming games. Not really this; banana. It does NOT make people loose some IQ points.... So its fine.

In genral, it makes some sense to start banning those "Miss neko 1, 2, 3, games." I believe it makes people think Steam is a weird place.

Its not. Its known as the ULTIMATE gaming place, but the major downside is that it has really weird games with a weird community in them.

And yet again, banana does not do that. Let it be.

In conclusion, Banana is fine, but not the money farms.

(If you go to discussions, more forums, you will see what I mean, and you should know what is the odd one.)

Dont ban Banana! 👍

Bro before you propose your arguments you need to consider how easy it is to refute them, otherwise you are wasting my time. For example here: if the only thing that matters is that devs pay 100$ for their game to be on here, why are certain games banned, such as of a wrong pornographic nature? See, you need to work on this argument a bit longer, get back to me once you do.
Good, because you haven't refuted anything here. Giving your opinion is not a refute.

You not liking a game does not mean it is harmful. dangerous, causes pollution, radiation, eczema, or any other crazy thing that you try to attach to it.

You wanna know a bad game? E.T. It was so bad that they buried it, as in, in the damn ground.

Get some perspective.

Banned games? Guess what? If it's on your account, you can still access it. Did you know that?

It breaks human decency. It created an artificial currency that relies exclusively on market prediction. Meanwhile since its release so much energy has been wasted since literally hundreds of thousands of computers (400k atm) are continously switched on, 'mining'. It's pathetic how supposedly we are trying to fight climate change, yet are unwilling and unable to take down such artificial ♥♥♥♥. Ban this abhorrent trash.

So, 400K computers playing games, looking at porn or doing something else is fine wasting energy but folks playing a banana game enjoying themselves is a big no no..
Exactly. Infact, they don't even realize that they are just wasting their money, and also losing focus power.

I mean like, I really hope they get out of that. Best of luck and I mean no offense.:steamsalty:

Sure, my argument relies on the fact that I believe Banana produces nothing of value, is an entirely superflous and wholly wasteful activity.
So is gaming and here we are.

More moral crusading against "adult"/porn games? No, Steam doesn't need to ban them. They aren't even visible by default, you have to go out of your way to enable them on your store.

It's just a game about clicking a banana

Most people probably made an autoclicker macro on their mouse1 just for the game to get that banana item

And this was probably popular for a few weeks just because people dictated the value of the banana to be easy money

I don't see anyone legitimately buying a copy of banana anymore, though. It was a meme game.

I'd buy actual bananas, since I need food

Anyone who gets their game approved by valve and gives them the money to put it on steam gets approved

There's "chair f***ing simulator". Not even kidding.

I've went through maybe 10k games on my discovery queue, just to see what's out there

A lot more stuff worse than Banana

You just defined the cookie clicker genre.

Entirely correct. It's a perceived personal "problem", further shown by the wrong usage of words like "facts" and "morals". It keeps surprising me that people keep thinking that their personal "morals" somehow are general.

It's basically just pretending to care. Nothing different than the people who suggest pointless things regarding security, cause they "want to do something".

People who really care will take actual action, not pick fights on forums.

No, you havent. You assume something about a game you never even opened.
This is NOT an Idle game, you do NOT have to keep it running 24/7 to get Bananas.
You open the game, click once or twice, then close it.

Repeat after 7 hours for a "normal" drop and repeat after 14 hours for a "rare" drop.
Your "argument" is not an argument at all.

So yes, the earlier argument about people playing CS2 in comparison, or any other game really, absolutely makes sense.
