Steam breaks their concurrent user record AGAIN - This is not a repost from 5 months ago when they last broke their record
In before all the claims that this is nothing but bots or steam faking their numbers

People shouldn't waste so much time online. They should think about working more and feeding their families.
(So I don't have to.)
You're here.....

Well, I'd rather have others work, because it's convenient for me if I don't have to. I'm not gonna taint my hands with work. I'd rather drain this dumb system than fuel it.

People are free to spend their free time however they like as long as it's not unlawful. They don't need to go back to work because someone said so.

So everyone else needs to be online less, except the people that are hinting at taking from the system and refusing to work while telling others they need to work more to support others?

Here, take a look at this:
https://steamcommunity.com/groups/archiasf
Apparently, people can simply make hundreds of "bots accounts" by using this.

One user can have dozens of accounts online at the same time. This will obviously generate huge player numbers, but those player numbers don't mean anything, if all those players are the same person.
You know databases can have a UNIQUE tag used as well when doing queries, right?

Yeah, honestly that would be very convenient for me.

Uh ... good for Steam?

I don't really see why this matters except that a lot of gamers are doing what I expect them to be doing ... playing games.

That's why I got Steam. I no longer have a PS console to play them on for now.

New record

Let's be honest, most of the known alts are banned so I guess they resort to new ones

Well fraud investigations for benefits are a thing, but not related to the thread whatsoever.
Anyway.

When they're not alts its just people with a huge moderation history, unsurprisingly.

That Wukong game really made people flock here in numbers, just like Palworld did.

The rise of China, and Steam Deck.

I'll give it to Mr Newell though, he's not afraid to test out new markets, and Ge Force Now is another.

I can play that WuKing game on my Xbox thru GFN. But i have to buy it and sign on Steam. Then China has another with that Delta Force, that's apparently a BF killer.

Newer growing markets, and getting away from PC seems to be doing well. Though, just Jan of last year, Xbox claimed they broke a record.

Who knows, but congratulations to Valve, China and Mr Newell :steamhappy:

Well, they're not allowed to be this popular. I am going to make up theories able to undermine their popularity.

It doesn't explain the state some of their game forums are in... Shouldn't people be having meaningful discussions about the game play? Instead their entire game forum seems to consist out of "invite spam." People aren't having any discussions about the game.

You mean Deadlock?

I was in fact looking at that forum. And many discussion threads are similar. I am not sure why there are so many of those discussions, and they are all the same, and they all have the same replies. Unsure what to make of it.

The people who have actual discussions about the game are buried underneath this pile of "invite spam," and can't receive any help like this...

Those numbers aren't for Steam China.

EDIT:
Hmmm. Maybe it does include them.

But isn't that "Wukong" a Chinese developer? That's apparently what they're saying is bringing them in. I personally don't get it about that game, but others seem to really like it. It's all over YT.

Sir, this isn't the suggestion forum.

Well, at least we have an admission. Moving along.

There's more than just china for growing numbers that become customers of game stores. Steam Deck also helps for people that intend to mobile game, but those are only a few things of the entire market.

GFN, xbox etc is irrelevant to this discussion as well as it usually is in most threads.

It pays to not jump the gun to post. It's a sure fire way to miss post edits.
