If you have a license on Steam which is tied to the EA App, then it'll be in your EA App library with the Steam logo on the top left recognizing you already have it.
There is the possibility that one of the versions will simply not register. I used to have two distinct versions of Mirror's Edge on Origin. The forced change to the EA App, saw one of those copies vanish. Now whether that would happen when buying Steam versions, I don't know. I personally wouldn't risk paying for a product that I suspect won't get.
I've also never encountered this with any of the Battlefield games.
I never said anything about Dragon Age.
That's probably why. I have all Steam games on a separate set of drives (3 total, 2 storage drives and 1 main SSD for games I play often enough) as EA, Ubi and Rockstar on 1 drive. I even gave Activision-Blizzard their own massive drive for their mostly insanely large crap games.
Which version did you loose, the Steam or the EA app one
Btw. the vanishing of games on the EA app seems to be common, f.e. after a update. Relaunching the app or clearing the cache seems to fix it.
"4 years ago", seems to be a older issue. Ddin't see recent complains, so I guess it was a game unique issue that is already fixed.
How does it look with in-game progress
Also does the Steam version of the game show up on the EA app as soon as it's purchased or do you have to first start it up on Steam?
(way back when long story)
purchased and played same games on EA ..
(before reconnect)
after steam and EA finally got their stick back together ..
i now purchase both on steam and EA ..
(here take my money)
if it's a good game i get it on both ..
but i must have it on steam period end story<<<
Regardless, at that time, BC2 was basically completely dead in the sense of cost of operation vs number of players. 2042 helped decimate the numbers especially during the recent super sales. It was also fairly old way beyond EOL, yet very, very fun.
I just moved the install folder to my Steam folder, clicked download in Steam, it verified the files.
When I launched the game, it synced up all the trophies I had already earned on EA App / Origin.
It automatically signed in to my profile and everything. Seamless.
