Steam summer sales then and now
About at what point did the summer sales go from being one of the most anticipated events on Steam to pretty much forgettable?

:tarebag: When you had all the older games that you’ve wanted.
If I recall correctly, Summer Sale 2019.

You can still find variable load rate cards.

Now that most game prices don't drop for years. Many games are 5+ years old and still $40 or more. So now when they go on sale, they are not really on sale.

When you got older, and "omg, gotta get MOAR GAMES NAO!" didn't control you as much?

(also, when many more sales were added to the schedule, so you didn't have to wait several months for things to be on sale again.)

Yeah this is a real shame. Kinda disappointed this year
Not sure, but in my opinion, this year's summer sale is very lackluster. Very few titles that pique my interest and the ones that do aren't really on sale for much more than full price.
best summer sale was 2014:8bitheart:
