It's just an easy way to draw a PNG for a summer theme'd sale.

I'm sure there are a lot of 2D animation style games out there. Granted, a majority of them would probably be more farming sim oriented like Stardew or side scrollers like Shantae. I suppose RPGs lend themselves to 2D as well.

But the sale isn't about specific games or themes. It's not even about the summer theme. It's just a big seasonal sale where a ton of games go on sale at once for no particular reason other than it being a certain time of the year.
