How well does Xcom 2 run on the Steam Deck?

I've wanted to check out Xcom 2 for ages, it's marked as "Playable" for the Steam Deck but there are a few flags. I also saw some older discussions here about the launcher not working.

If you have Xcom 2 and play it on the Deck, how has your experience been so far?

I don't know about the deck unfortunately. But, I know it works on Linux just fine VIA proton. Which would be my advice. If native doesn't work right, try proton.
