Steam Sale Anime
So what is the deal, Valve is really going to make that, just for one sale and then it gets destroyed? Doesn't that seem like too much effort to come up with such an anime just to keep there on store front page for what, a week and poof?

They should at least keep the characters. Make something more out of it, have a whole lore. Like I don't know Ronald McDonald and all those creepy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weirdos from fast food have an entire universe and story arches and whatnot just to sell hamburgers. :bszombie2:

They don't really get destroyed, though. Old sale stuff still stays in the points shop, including the Spring one and the Summer one is more than likely going to be the same. And since the backgrounds from the sales profiles are the same as the sales banner, there's always a way to see what it looked like.

Dude I'm not talking about any point store, I'm talking about that one animated front page of the store, that's it.

Yes, and it's literally the same as the profile background you get with the special profile for the sale. That was my point, the art isn't lost forever because you can still see it there.

It's not just for this one event. We saw this Steam delivery girl and her cat during the spring sale too.

I don't know I remember some kraken some years ago and it's gone. Also some extraterrestrials lol.

Fun fact: The Steam Store used to have a few characters that kept poking around and being part of the sales artwork. IIRC they had a name but I can't remember them.
Here you have them on the 2011 Steam Summer sale artwork:
https://store.steampowered.com/oldnews/5761
Here they are on the 2012 Summer sale again:
https://store.steampowered.com/oldnews/8403

They used to be part of the artwork of the site as well.

These characters do show up in some places still. I know that on Group Events, they show up in different artworks that correspond to the different types of events you can set.

When they commission artists, you aren't going to see many of the Steam related mascots. Those mascots were back when those employees still worked at Valve.

Right now, they seem to stick with the theme -- we've seen her deliver the Steam packages on her bike before.

Ai can make that in very little time indeed.

AI has more trouble writing a drum score from a sound file i submitted than writing some PHD dissertation. That pic can be made with no effort at all.

The artist spent months on all the artwork for the sale.

But the girl in the artwork has the right number of legs.

And the right number of fingers. But, who knows, maybe the "AI" has advanced...

It has, very little errors these days and very high quality, sad.

I don't really see the point of doing this though I do think it would be fun I feel as if it's a little pointless because not many people will study the background of a sales page would it be cool yes would it be the best use of time ehhhh I don't know about that
