steam sales are not good like it's used to...
i remember we switched to pc gaming because of good discounts? it costs way more to build a pc than a console but these past years we only have similar discounts to console. building a high end pc is no longer a good investment. i forgot to mention that a lot of new games lately are released in broken state on pc while they have the better version on console

I see plenty of games with great discounts, my cart will have enough to buy again. Sounds like you're having wrong expectations.

i guess you're new to steam? we used to have way better sales back then which is the reason why a lot of people have switched to pc gaming but now it's only the common console discounts lol

Not Steam deside how much of a Discount they give.

i know that which discourages me from upgrading my pc and make me want go back to playing on ps5 since they have well optimized games there. i see no point in staying as pc gamer right now unless it's a game with multiplayer focus since it's a locked feature on console for years now

Nope, certainly not new. Been gaming for 35+ years and always been mutliplatform. Familiar with Steam for a long time.

No "we" or "switching" for me, correct.

What you're not realising is that whatever discounts or pricing strategies you don't like are the result of the purchasing habits of consumers.

But as said, plenty of good games on good discounts. Might be not the ones you want, but that sometimes happens.

Actually if you know your way around a PC it is the best investment lol. The sales here for me are just fine and better then any console, you do know that every account on here gets different sales results based off what you own and so forth, and consoles to be quick have a cheaper gaming experience like consoles being (RDNA2 7nm) and PC being (RDNA3 5nm) now with costing more to build a PC is because all it's components are modular and replaceable or upgradeable with console it is one cheap board pressed with cheap versions of the PC's components on chips pressed to a board for an overprice, and the buggy games are on console not PC lol my 5950x and RX7900 GRE 20 gig plays games just fine.

Yeah just saw Alpha Protocol only off for 20%. Its a 14 year old game, I was 13 when it came out

I have noticed that the steam main big sales events tend to suck compared to the lesser random sales they have. I have seen games then have a 60-75% discount but in the big sales they are 25-40%. I wont touch games that are in a sale and i know they have had a discount 2x better in the past.

I can wait, by the time they do come back you have probably picked them up in a bundle anyways. Far less than the best sale the 1 game has had but in a bundle your paying less and getting several other games in the process.

Publishers and developers are not mandated to apply greater discounts in bigger events and it's a bad expectation to think this would be the case. If you see a game on discount throughout the year at a good price then get it then because if you wait for a main event, chances are it'll be the same or worse. No point in waiting 6+ months hope to try and save a few extra quid.

That's an exception as it's only recently be relisted.

Personally I was pleasantly surprised by how many games were reduced by more than 70 percent, and the featured deep discounts on the front page are nice.

i usually do, but there are like 2 or 3 games during that time so i have to make a choice, looks like it was a bad choice too.

The biggest Offenders are AAA Companies that just dont give a ♥♥♥♥. Theres plenty of good deals to be had with Games you only find on PC, or even smaller yet not Indie Games that offer better Deals than i ever see on Console.

This will be the very first (and maybe last) time I'm currently avoiding the Steam Summer Sale. I'll be shifting my focus to the XBL Marketplace for the 360 and buy whichever's left of those games and DLCs to buy before Microsoft shuts down the 360 Marketplace for good next month in late July.

I remember a time when we had no Steam sales, so anything with a discount is better than those days.

Gaming has never been a cheap hobby.

Shoulda stuck to mobile if you wanted free games.
