Steam (toast) notifications whilst in-game

I have steam notifications set to never show whilst in-game, but they continue to always pop up whilst in-game.

Interestingly, before I begun encountering this issue I had the opposite problem where for several weeks I was not receiving any notifications at all..

I think one, or both, of these issues seemed to have started occurring after some kind of client update, as if some settings were altered because prior to it I had it all set up correctly, I would reliably receive steam notifs for various things and they were never as pop-ups whilst in game.

Easy solution? Disable the overlay. Since the overlay is also abused for advertising, referal/tracking and has no security measures against anything, this is recommended anyway.

The regular notifications have been bugged for a while, but can you check for yourself whether you have received something? You don't need a green warning light for that.
