Well ARK's patching system isn't something you need to understand. They understand it and it's their game. If you don't like patches play old games and abandoned games.
No one is responsible for your crappy Internet and their business isn't going to revolve around it. If you don't like playing games with certain demands on your Internet connection you should look for old games, smaller games, and abandoned games.
I mean once upon a time I couldn't play newer FPS games because the size of maps and such was way too much for 56k to handle. What was the solution? Get better Internet and that meant moving. And ultimately if your internet service is the problem, then that's your option.
