I mean do you routinely believe everything a random person tells you without doing any validation or fact checking to see if they are telling the truth?
Again, you should do your own research instead of just blindly repeating with no knowledge what someone says because you want to believe what they are saying is the truth.
Well, that's the law, and breaking the law, and public safety issues. We're talking about Leases.
Well the game you cited in the article, is still there..
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/one-step-after-fall/9NJ2HWS137K5
And so likely the matter rectified since your link. And that's why we have to be careful, who's providing this information, who they are, and what their experience on these matters are.
Which again, i'll ask you, what game was removed from steam and is no longer downloadable? You seem perfectly capable of listening to random people without any clue on their knowledge when it suits you, but seem to decry anyone else.
So again, Steam does not remove games, anyone telling you otherwise is lying to you. Unless you have an example of a game that is no longer downloadable....
You should try reading the article. The base game wasn't removed so of course its still in the store. Unfortunately when you don't read you will keep making mistakes.
Well someone read the article at least. Sadly too many uneducated people who have no clue what they are talking about keep trying to argue things without even reading the articles and are repeatedly proven wrong, yet constantly refuse to ever read the sources people provide.
Sir, i cannot speak for what happens in your country, or others. And for that i'm mistaken, if people are under the impression, i speak for the world. I do not. HERE, they are not taking away your games, without a refund.
It's probably been said to you 200 times or more in the last year. Youre probably nearly as tired of hearing it as people are of repeating it. Nobody can make you accept the fact, we can only keep informing that your game licenses are still yours, and you'll be able to access them provided you meet the requirements.
Well, you're the one moving the goalposts lol. You're talking about illegal activity, like not registering your car, or going thru a light or something.
I'm talking about leasing, v ownership.
If i buy a car, although Chevy owns the license for the model, i can buy it, and smash it, alter it, whatever. It belongs to me. I OWN the product.
If you're tired of hearing it, it's likely because you end up, wrong. Like they were just wrong, moving goalposts to "free apps" being taken out, a clear bug since fixed on PS, and a game where other countries have different rules.
And this coming from a person, who is a total noob on these PC matters. You're supposed to know what you're doing. Get it right, and folks like me will shut up.
Those versions weren't country specific. Users in the US could download them when they were on the store. When they removed them, they removed them from those users.
So yes, they did take away games from people here. They did not refund them.
"Update:
We are now seeing reports that both One Step After Fall (Español) and One Step After Fall (Deutsch) have been completely removed from players' libraries, and they are unable to download either of these games despite previously paying for them.
One user on Twitter claims to have received a refund from Microsoft for both versions, so it may be worth reaching out to Microsoft if you now no longer have these in your library"

Reach out to Xbox.
You really need to read the article. They took away those games from people in the US if they bought those versions.
So yes, they did take away your games without a refund
Once again both those "interpretations" are a result of your lack of reading. Both are completely wrong
For one it wasn't free apps on Playstation which if you read the article you would see as it very clearly said
Again, if you had read it they shut down the funimation app (which is free) and removed all the paid shows and content you had PURCHASED
Secondly as already stated the xbox game for instance was removed from the accounts of US users, it had nothing to do with any countries laws. They removed the german and spanish language version of the game from everyone who had bought it.
Fortunately Steam has not done what Microsoft or Sony has. So Gabe can give Mr Spencer a lesson on how to treat your customers.
if you referring to the one user on twitter bit, I can go to twitter right now and be "one user" that says Xbox drinks the blood of children. That doesn't make it true, nor would it change the scummy practice of taking away your titles without refunding you, and forcing tens of thousands of users to have to be aware it happened and then try to get a hold of xbox manually and HOPE they get a refund and aren't denied.
Other users on twitter reported being denied a refund when they asked
