Disability need ai to help me play
I'm looking for any games that have decent to very good graphics that will allow me to either manage the player or team and let AI play for me or any game in general that will allow me to have the AI control the main character while I still select equipment or make choices etc. I have muscular dystrophy and have played games since I was about 3 years old and in the last two years have lost the use of my arms, but I still really like watching games and since I am blessed with a wife who is willing to learn, playing some games with her. However, she is not a gamer by nature and fps and other quick stuff is definitely going to take some time for her to get used to. Also sometimes she just needs time to get stuff done around the house while I can watch my games, or she can set me up etc. One game that works decent is wwe 2k24, I just hate how I can only use ai in certain modes and i don't get any credits to unlock anything. Anyways any suggestions of any category whether it be fps, arpg, sports, etc where i can still feel like I am involved in decisions but get to watch it play would be greatly appreciated!

An AI playing on your behalf is a bot.
Any sort of program that automated gameplay is a bot.
And use of bots in any sort of multiplayer use can result in a game ban from MANY games if not ALL of them.

The OP is asking for game suggestions, not your opinion about gaming as a hobby, nor have they said anything about using AI in multiplayer games. Maybe sit this one out if you have nothing useful to contribute.

@OP:

I am not sure if this what you are looking for as it might not be a genre you are interested in (survival), but you could consider: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1053710/The_Red_Lantern/

Mainly, you make choices via multiple-choice questions and then your character moves on their own. There is some progression with getting better items, even if you have to start a run over. Not sure it's what you are interested in but maybe check on some gameplay on YouTube to see if you might want to give it a go. On sale right now!

First of all, thank you for saying what you said. I truly appreciate it. As far as being interested in the game, it is completely up my alley, in fact so much up my alley that I own it on my Nintendo switch :winter2019coolyul: Thank you very much for the suggestion though. I have yet to beat it, but I have thoroughly enjoyed playing it thus far. My wife likes it a lot too, lol.

Oh glad to hear. I enjoyed the game also. Initially, I was expecting something more interactive but then I got into it. I just have one more dog story to finish! Good luck finding games that fit what you need.

You could try games like darkest dungeon with help from an eye tracker maybe it gives you the time between turns i cant imagine eye tracking would be fast so anything turnbased (without a timer) might be really fun for you maybe doorkickers(i think you can pause it while you decide to move people, maybe visual novels could be good too! I admire your resilience friend!

I haven't had time to work on df-ai for a long time, but what it did was essentially turn Dwarf Fortress into an idle game. If you want to see a game play itself, that's the genre for you.

Thank you very much for your response and suggestions! I do indeed have a lot of turn based games that currently the wife helps me play. However, I am getting a brand new chair at the end of the month that has something called eyegaze to drive and operate the chair. I asked the technician who is going to bring it out if I could use it with the computer, but he wasn't sure. So I guess I'll find that out when I get it, but that would be super cool. I tried a demo of it, but it had trouble tracking my eyes...I'm hoping it's not due to all my face tattoos, lol. I'm very stubborn, and will always be gaming. Thank you for the compliment. :Juicebox:

I've always been very intrigued by dwarf fortress, is it more real time than turn based or can you pause it? Also how far did you get with df-ai? Anyways if I had the wife helping me do you think this would be a good game to try? It seems pretty in-depth but its nice now that it looks like they added graphics to the steam version.

WH40K Gladius has a Spectator mode, not much in terms of making decisions though. Adjustable levels per NPC and startup funds & research.
Turn Based multi-faction strategic warfare. Purchased it on sale from GoG, not bad for the money paid, good graphics.

I have WH40K Gladius Relics of War, I'm assuming it's the same game you're talking about. I've thought about playing 4X games with AI vs AI just not sure how much fun it would be or if I'd know what was going on as the computer usually makes moves pretty quick. I never really played the game, but might have to check it out. What would be your suggestions for settings or setting up a match to make it interesting and know what's going on? Also thank you very much for your response.

Well, in settings you can make it show all moves made, camera would move to their armies. The movement happens pretty fast but it pauses for attacks & opportunity attacks (defense) for each unit's animation. One thing I noticed is bots don't produce large bases as they should have for the units they make. It's time consuming as it is, but you can also make a 2 vs 2 vs 2 vs 2 match. Map as large as you want, and you can modify what the computer will randomly select.
I purchased Gladius & Relics of War as original + DLC. Now I read about a "Drukhari" faction I don't seem to be able to select in the game, or are they the "neutral Eldari" that you find everywhere with the gates ? Very annoying if I chose an aggressive enemy and my forces got beaten by a neutral invader. Beware the Orks, they ARE the many. WAAAAAAAAGH !!!

I'll install it and give it a shot. Not sure if I own any of the DLC. Have you ever tried 1 vs 1? Thanks for the tips and wish me luck, lol :startledmetalslime::Knolan:

I don't suppose you know of a way to have the computer end the turn for you instead of having to click it?:winter2019happygingerbread:

Oh you could definitely play it. It's a game where you basically set up a bunch of orders for the dwarves to complete and then you watch them complete the tasks. If you're a fan of reading lore, there's a mode called "legends" that's basically fantasy wikipedia specifically for the world you generated. Adventure mode is a roguelike where time only moves when you do.

OP- are you able to speak well enough to use a voice control/speech recognition program to control games (and other PC apps)?
Voice Attack is a good piece of SW for both game control inputs and for other computer programs (life office apps or email, etc.)
It is here on Steam:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/583010/VoiceAttack/
If you go to their website, you can buy it there as well, and it is a few $$ cheaper, but I am not sure if the SW is different between the versions. I have a copy bought from the website- it does work well with games I play, but I don't know if it is missing any features that the Steam version may have. They may be the exact same thing, but priced differently to make up for the cut that Valve takes from each sale of the SW here.

It does take some set-up and training the SW to recognize your voice and words you want to use for commands and input. But I have used it, and it is good for *most* games and other tasks on a PC. Better than Windows built in Speech Recognition, though that is also an option to try out if you want to play games instead of only watching them play themselves.
I will say- none of the voice input/voice control options I have used are not really great for super twitchy games like competitive FPS games, but for slower paced games like The Long Dark and even some more action-packed games like Grim Dawn- Voice Attack works well for me (severe RA and degenerative OA) and my husband (who has MS and needs to use it when he is having a bad flare-up).

There are other programs out there that do the same or similar things that make using a computer possible with voice only, but I can't say how or if they work with video games. But IMHO, it's worth looking into if you want to play games instead of only being able to watch AI or other people playing them.

I do actually already have voice attack and used to use it quite a bit. It is a very handy piece of software. I've been without a computer for the past 2 years or so, so unfortunately I lost all of my profiles for different games and my microphone. I bought a headset and am going to try it though I don't know how well it will understand me as now I have to be on a bipap 24 hours a day. Worth a shot anyways and thank you very much for the response. I wish all the best for you and your family. :steamhappy: P.S. I am a fan of Grimm Dawn, if you don't mind me asking how did you go about making a profile for it or what commands did you use?
