how does the block button work?

I have been foloved by an toxic player which doesnt do thing that are ban level but theire quite mean. so i just want to know how does the block button work, if it alows the user to see my replies or coment on threads i post?

Blocking just prevents direct communication from the blocked user, nothing else.

They can still see everything.

as hotsauce said, but also adding, it doesnt really work like it should.

in any case, its need to be reworked so it blocks all communication between the 2 users, ie... they cant see each other or interact with each other ( in general, neither exist for one another on the platform, period), in all steam forums and in game hubs....

that being said, bad actors ruining the forums, harassing other users and breaking forum rules daily, should be perma banned from steam community all together, since they cant behave properly.

People who feel compelled to block those they dislike from public spaces should simply be banned from public spaces, first.

Blocking hides blocked users threads and posts from you. Instead of topic title and poster name, you'll see "Topic by a blocked user" and instead of their posts you'll see "blocked user" and you have to click the show button to see the content.
