How to hide your games or what games you are playing on Steam
We all have a game on Steam that we are a little embarrassed about or that we don't want our friends to know that we have started playing or that we played 300 hours of it when we always deny it. Therefore, today we are going to explain to you how to hide your games on Steam or what games you are playing, so that at least you don't send that notification that you have started playing something.

These are two fairly simple solutions that we are going to teach you how to configure in a few steps. For notifications, it is enough to disconnect or make yourself invisible in the Steam chat, and to not show your catalog or the hours played you will have to go to the privacy settings.

If you don't want your friends to know when you've started playing the game that embarrasses you or not have it so easy to figure out what you're playing, the first step is to disconnect from the chat so they can't see it so easily. To do this, on the main Steam screen, click on the Friends and chat option at the bottom right.

This will open Steam chat, where you can see your friends online and what they're playing in real time. Here, click on the down arrow next to your profile name, and from the options choose Offline or Invisible mode. This means that you will no longer appear in chat, nor will you notify when you start playing something

Remember that this will only help prevent your friends from knowing in real time what you are starting to play, but if they deliberately enter your profile they will be able to know. You just won't tell him about it every time you start playing something. If you want to hide your game list, then go to the next point.

Hide the games you have from your profile

You will also be able to hide your game list from your friends without having to make your profile invisible, since it is a separate setting. Inside the Steam client, click on your profile name, and when you are inside your profile, click on the Modify profile button on the right side.

When you enter your profile settings, you have to look in the left column where the different sections appear. In it, at the bottom, click on the Privacy Settings section to modify the settings related to it.

Here you will be able to make your profile and its data invisible. But if you don't want your entire profile to be private, something that would be strange and suspicious to your friends, you have to change the Game Details parameter. This category is what allows your friends to see your list of games, wishlists, achievements or the time you have been playing them. Change the details setting to Private, and your friends will no longer have this information.

If you only want to hide the time you spend playing your games, within the details you will be able to check the option to Keep total playing time private. Here, even if your details were not private, the time you spent playing was. Your friends will know what games you have, but not how much you play.

Mark the game as Private.

All the other nonsense ChatGPT spat out for you is meaningless now.

just turn it off. i used to be big about the whole dont hide things bs but the reality is they will use anything if they are trying to harass you and its easier just to turn it off.

to many people are animals and an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. the worst part is its obviously petty nonsense where people are only out to harass you. they dont even care about what they are using to make fun of you.
