I just hope steam finds a way to include crypto games to the store, there is some cool concepts on collectibles that I find it very appealing. Played another couple of hours of The Six Dragons in Epic games and I m hooked
Valve said "NO" to crypto games. Which is a good thing.

Crypto games can be used to let people make money by playing. Because there is no sever to be payed for (only the network transaction fees which are very cheap on some networks). For example WOW is successfull, because there are lot of players. Imagine, WOW would have 20 players in total. Nobody would play it, it would be a dead game. So the players bring value to the game by spending their lifetime in the game. The only who gets money for it is the publisher. Not the players. In crypto this is different. You play in future same games, but there is no 3rd party who gets all your money. You can even make games, that pay you while playing (like a normal job in real life). As long there are players who want to pay for it. I.e professional simulation games, like sport, flight simulation, etc. Even more. But we must first get rid if the stupid media that calls everything a scam. And let people discover the new kind of games.

Crypto is a scam for dumb people. They just got a lot of dumb people to buy in on the scam.

But we must first get rid if the stupid media that calls everything a scam.

Yeah, wouldn't want to educate your victims. Then they might not fall for it. And the only way you can get your money out is if you trick more people into putting money in. Normal pyramid scheme stuff.

This seems like a standard cope from crypto bros...
I've seen only one crypto game that would actually let you earn something, but it would require hours of boring grind per cent. And people there weren't playing, they were afk or had bots setup.

The rest were rug pulls to let devs earn on stupid people.

If you want to earn money by playing games, start a streaming career or become pro player.

I dont know man, I play this game found in this thread on Epic and I have 350 hours, and I m having a blast. Games are games, crypto is an add on in my eyes that if used correctly adds value

Steam doesn't allow games to send players to third party stores or payment processors. It's that simple. "Crypto" is not magic.

The fact won't see what it's really about says a lot. Crypto/NFT Games just speed run to reinvent the wheel to make things worse to convince you that it's an investment via it predatory system to play STOCK MARKET in these games that it's really about, and funny enough most of these games are just asset flips wtih TONS of MTX using Crypto/NFT.

Fun fact, a lot of these games, won't make your money back, and even rug pull which I'm pretty sure you know that term very well if you're praising Crypto/NFT.

Yup it's mostly just a predatory scheme to convince people that they need it, and end up holding the bag with thoughts that they make something from it only to realize no one wants it.

Unless the money earned from the player is something that can go directly into their bank accounts without involving receiving crypto to then convert, then no the games do no let anyone make money by playing. You have to remember crypto itself has no value, it involved investing money into it in order to get others involved. The value of the crypto fluctuating rapidly won't allow players to get a consistent amount of money in return unless the ones running the game are willing to take a loss (cough) epic (cough).

My opinion is Valve will eventually reverse their decision when/if crypto/nft games actually start becoming popular. I think they banned them because the last presidential administration was trying to label them securities, and heavily regulate them probably because they wanted a cbdc to replace the dollar. New administration loves crypto, and has banned cbdc's lol.

The whole point is moot, given this message on that store page:
Notice: The Six Dragons is no longer available on the Steam store.

They won't. Valve have already been down that road with crypto payments. They decided they weren't worth bothering with and dropped them.

What you shouldn’t publish on Steam:

13. Applications built on blockchain technology that issue or allow exchange of cryptocurrencies or NFTs.

There are three real world cases where someone would be paid for playing a game. Tournament prizes, someone being a part of the game's development, and sponsored videos.

In all three cases, the reason the person is being paid is because they're making it so the game can potentially make more money. And if everyone who downloaded a game was paid... That wouldn't happen.
