Editing/cropping steam screenshots

I was wondering if there is a way to crop screenshots before you upload them to steam. I have tried cropping them in the steam folder in the disk location, but when i go back to steam to upload them it only shows the unedited versions of the screenshots.
any advice would be very appreciated <3

i think it should work.. i've definitely uploaded edited screenshots in the past, albeit with the previous screenshot manager. maybe try:
1) restart steam after cropping the files before trying to upload
2) crop the associated thumbnail too (just overwrite a 200px width version of your final cropped picture over the image in the 'thumbnails' folder with the same filename).
3) search the filename in the /760/screenshots.vdf file and edit the height/width values for that image entry to match the new values.
or 4) delete the screenshots.vdf file and then reopen steam to have it automatically regenerate the screenshot database (bear in mind this will cause some notification spam which is normal)
