Steam's UI is ugly
You'd think it was still 2004. Back in them olden days this would've looked cool, but it's old and outdated now. Nothing is updated for modern sensibilities. It all looks like some old fat nerd doesn't understand what people want. The library is a cluttered mess, the store and store pages still look like they're for 4:3 monitors and it's stupid how even the buy button is the middle of a store page. Valve is on sleep mode. They do nothing because they don't have to. They make their millions of dollars every minute whether they're asleep or not.

You don´t have enough power for a modern GOOD looking interface. IT costs a lot of power.Which ou don´t have as no modern processor is able to do that in combination with having to calculate AMD/Nvidia-shaders.

What does this even mean? Make it a garbage mess like modern social media sites, make it full of extraneous crap that "modern" kids love on their smartphones? What?

(personally, I'm always against "update it because MODERN!" "change for the sake of change" and so on. Keep it the same it's always been, having something be consistent is great. Not that Steam doesn't keep making stupid changes Just Because. . .)

I kinda agree , steam needs a design face lift for the forums, maybe flashy game ads next to the forum window that scrolls while you read and type. Maybe several preferred genre windows to promote games they might like to play, and even a personalized. Games you own window to get people reminded of games they have they can play, a frequent and a haven't played yet window on the forum scrolling would be great.

I know a lot of steam forum users who own 1000s of games and haven't played 50% of them.
Reminding them they own the game and haven't played it would help them and liven up the dull forum back drop
Ea and ubisoft made "modern" changes.
Both are more bad now.

As long as something is not bright white and/or stupid,
as long as it does what it should, its fine.

Clients should not become system brakes. If you have more than one of them running in the background, its like playing a game all the time by now.
Steam, even GOG too.

You write words but there is no constructive feedback in them.

Buy button in the middle is outdated? So where should this buy button be located?
Valve have changed Steam quite a bit too over the years. You're the one sleeping if you haven't noticed the changes.

Definitely don't try windows snapping with Steam's client on windows ;) It doesn't work, because...choices.

This degraded services is what happens when corporations become fat and lazy - they don't invest back into the product to please us, because they don't have to - they've already got us locked in with sunk cost - they don't need to improve...and so don't...unfortunately.

Steam was good once...a long time ago.

Steam can snap to all but the smallest position because Steam has a minimum width. It has nothing to do with the client being bad. Any client with a minimum width can't fit into Windows snapping feature that would make it smaller than that.

Steam service has degrade? In what way? Bet you can't name a single reason.

here is steam in 2003

which do u prefer then or now

The old but dusty green look that was peak design back in the day. It's fun when topic starters throw years around but when you take something close from it you'll quickly find out how little they know.

Wft does it even mean? Do you want to display your "chosen" pronouns or something?

Not only ugly but impractical. Everything is tiny on higher resolutions and massive when scaling is enabled. I always use the website for browsing forums or the shop.

They should stop making animated kiddie stickers and focus on fixing what really matters.

Frankly I prefer the old original version.

hello

What is the old one and the new one ?
Because using april update from last year and using the current one, both are sharing the same design more or less ...

that is what modern generally is, yes. the "mobile" look. Bigger pictures, more space, annoying fonts, etc.

That said, in general I find every UI to be "meh". With all of them you get used to them anyway and the aesthetics are much less important to me than the functionality and practicality.

Most people have stopped using Steam I think. There's nothing we can do for you anymore.

Probably all bots.

Okay, okay. Perhaps they're not all bots. But there could be bots regardless.
I am not even that averted to bots. Provided they don't spam.

You think it's a conspiracy? It's not a conspiracy. Just look:

Bot-farms. Millions upon millions of bots farming, right in front of your nose.
