Remote Play does not support surround sound

I have been struggling to get surround sound to work on my setup downstairs from my workhorse desktop when other surround content plays just fine. Thought it was an issue with the remote computer for a long time then after some testing with different content, found out it was not. Went upstairs to see if it was the host PC, no issue there. Turns out, Steam has not made up it's mind on on Remote Play surround sound. See below:

Workhorse: I7 13700k RTX 4090 on MSI Tomahawk Mobo connected directly to Google Nest

Remote: Lenovo Legion Y740 I7-8750HQ and RTX 2080 connected directly to another Google Nest wired straight to an older Motorola router (It's not the router set up, trust me)

TV: LG G2 65" 4k w/Dolby Vision/Atmos
Soundbar: Vizio M51ax-j6 5.1 w/ Dolby atmos

Sound/TV/Connections: Lenovo has an HDMI 2.0 connected directly to the HDMI In port on the soundbar, soundbar is connected with an HDMI cable from it's eARC HDMI Out to the eARC HDMI in port on the TV.

Laptop is configured properly for Dolby Atmos for Home Theater, all 5 speakers are configured correctly and work through the testing in the Sound Control Panel, I can play games that support 5.1 surround such as SWBF2 2017, the Dolby Atmos test works from the laptop itself. So now I'm trying to stream FO4 from my Desktop and the picture comes through very clearly, holding it's 60 fps 1440p which the TV upscales beautifully to 4k with very little compression, but I could not get sound to come out of the rear speakers.

Turns out that even though you can set the audio to stream in 5.1 surround ( https://imgur.com/a/SOKUYhl ), Steam ACTUALLY doesn't support remote play surround sound according to its "Known Issues" page ( https://imgur.com/a/JFptzZd )

Not really looking for a solution, since now I see that one is not possible, but maybe some others have found some workarounds?

Im using steam link software instead of the standard remote play. It works with 5.1. Download the software on remote computer.
