Stellar Blade is probably in a similar boat to God of War and Spiderman. Sony probably owns partial rights. So they have a say when the PC version releases. Which is usually a bit before the sequel is about to release on playstation so those PC sales can be used to piggy back into playstation sales.
I got Ghost of Tsushima forcefuly refunded because I could not buy it because they implemented it on it and now I am worried will they implement it on Stellar Blade. Although it is fully single player game...
Timed exclusivity isn't a deal you make with a studio that has never done anything. It's something you only do with major players in the field because outright permanent exclusivity is too expensive to buy otherwise. Hence why no xbox version for Stellar Blade has been announced or considered. Where as the xbox versions on a Final Fantasy game could still happen.
If you have any proof to it just being a timed exclusive that would be great. All the evidence we have suggests Sony owns partial rights like they tend to do when they help fund a new project. Stellar Blade basically has no prospects of getting an xbox port, like ever. The devs never toyed around with the idea or anything. Meanwhile the FF16 director said they want to focus on the PC port first and is aware of the requests. Which means Sony might have paid a bit more to keep it off xbox for a little longer than PC. And they paid nothing to keep Stellar Blade off xbox because they own partial or full rights of the IP and can just say no to it.
Like I said the pc version of Stellar Blade hasn't even been officially announced yet and I'm sure when the pc version gets officially announced the Xbox version will get announced right along with it unless the same thing happens like what happened with FFXVI. And iirc the only Final Fantasy game on Xbox is FF14 Online and nothing else. FF7 Remake Intergrade never got released on Xbox either just on pc and ps5. So I highly doubt FF16 will get released on Xbox ever.
