It's funny to read this kind of thing when you are a EU resident and it remind me somehow when i went to Detroit in our factory for business as there were barbed wires at the top of the perimeter wall that surrounded the factory ... a bit like an old concentrate camp from the second world war 2 ...
So finally living in the USA is not being that desirable in the end
EU isn't much better with countries like Germany having one of the worst track records in the world with game censorship...
But perhaps in the future its possible that they MAY change the laws to do something......... Clearly this is a sign of the end times for steam because it MIGHT change in the future even though I can't name a single bill or anyone remotely discussing it....
/sarcasm off
People like to incite fear, especially in gamers.
Fear gets them clickthroughs!
Well i have only been here, more or less, "one" year, not "years", and in that one year, i've been SO correct thus far on this issue, i'm actually amazed at myself truth be told.
And in this "next" year at this rate, it's all coming to fruition. It has too. Politically, legally, and from a law enforcement standpoint, and if not the SC, Congress by force of nature thru these red states, maybe even a red president, is gonna make it happen reworking 230.
It's just the reality, in "this" country. I cant speak for others.
This is why so many find it hard to believe anything you post.
Well i have only been here, more or less, "one" year, not "years", and in that one year, i've been SO correct thus far on this issue, [/quote]
Had to stop there, if by correct you mean completely wrong on every claim you've made and as a result there hasn't been a single legislative bill passed let alone PROPOSED that would have any impact on steam then yes you are "correct"
Sadly you weren't even able to get the GAO report wrong and kept repeatedly insisting it was addressed to Steam when teh report itself made no mention of them, incorrectly claimed a committee was questioning steam when in reality it was 1 senator who asked them a few questions and then dropped the entire inquiry when they responded, etc.
Sadly you've made a lot of claims and keep insisting that you are write when you aren't, because you don't actually take the time to read or learn about what you are discussing and thus make basic mistakes.
Yep, the law that has nothing to do with steam is somehow proof that there will be future laws that aren't even proposed that will target steam...
I have only been on these "Discussions" for one year sir. And the only time i've ever mentioned these issues. And i've been right, on near everything lol.
But it helps to live in the country for which we speak, and know what's going on here. That's key as well. You learned that the hard way on another thread.
And so we have to listen to others views. The trend going on, is no doubt going to hit Steam one day, and it this rate, sooner than later.
And yet they will still claim they are bastions for "free speech" while using this law as a pretext to ban information the government doesn't want kids to learn.
They didn't classify Nutaku as a porn site either, because Nutaku only publishes and and sells video games. It's what Nutaku does, just like Steam but with landing page age-verification that you can't circumvent.
PHub, on the other hand, doesn't sell video games but it does sell adult videos because that's the entirety of PHub's business. They've only recently started using a similar landing page age-verification, after Florida called PHub's bluff about "mah freeze peach"!
Steam is a U.S. company. PHub and Nutaku are headquartered in Canada, where the 1st Amendment and "mah rights!" don't apply.
Actually you've been wrong on pretty much everything you've claimed, even with other threads where you falsely claimed the supreme court ruled against an appea when they haven't even heard the case yet.
You just refuse to listen to anything that doesn't fit your pre-conceived ideas and keep making false claims like the GAO naming steam when they weren't mentioned that are repeatedly disproved.
The FACTS are there is no legislation proposed, discussed, or even mentioned that would remotely effect steam. Yet you keep claiming its coming despite no one talking about any legislation.
