When did games become no fun
Seriously when did games become less fun? When you used to do boss fights in older games they were fun and challenging and still beatable, todays games they stopped being fun.
There are a few games in my library I would like to keep playing and perhaps finish but the boss battles just stop me and i have tried and tried.

I was liking Batora at the start until i came across that boss after rescuing her friend, where you have to keep changing colour from Orange to Purple and the boss keeps healing himself and you have regular enemies to deal with too.

Foregone was a great game and I was enjoying it until the end game boss, I dont know how to beat him, I get him to half life, and then he regenerates a whole chunk of it until he is almost full life again.....I watched two different youtube videos on the final boss to give me an idea, and in the videos they did the end boss didntt regenerate,, I am wondering why?
I saw one guy keep sliding back and forth and hacking the end boss, I tried the same and got smashed,

I gave up playing many of my games due to annoying parts, Hydrophobia from 2013 was fun until end boss, No matter how many times I tried I coudnt beat the end boss. . Last year I played it and got to the end and couldnt defeat the end boss as the game tactic is ridiculous and saw other peoples comments say the same thing too.

Can't think of any other games except Secret World Legends I used to love that until this went the same way, Couldnt finish a particular mission in the mines kept dying over and over.

and No I don't suck at games, as I have finished quite a few games myself :)

I dont want super easy as i said, but it stops being fun to the point when you can't even beat bosses or get past certain parts. At least I got past a part in NFS payback today i was stuck on :)
I can keep trying at Batora but i feel it will be pointless but i can try from time to time

Video Games stopped becoming fun after the release of 2013 GTA5 & Online with PS3...
Some might of said it Ended in 2011 when Digitally started being a subject...
Some say it Ended in the 90's when Silent Hill & Resident Evil originally was popular...

Some even say it Ended when The PS4 came out with the Dark Digital Age of Control,
& some even say it Ended when Video Games became Woke...

What I believe is that Video Games became no fun,
is when they became satire...

Which was long before they became Woke to start with...

& Woke isn't what killed the fun of Video Games,
it was satire all along, & People trying to convince
you that Woke Video Games are Anti-Gamer,
& that it's ruining the Industry as a whole??

People do realize?? if they just left Video Games alone??
Satire would of done the job all along for you,
& you never had to spread Wokism at all...

People just want to make it out like Wokism is actually achieving something at all...
Reality is that true Gamers are just curious if satire is ever going to End in
Video Games at all, or if Video Games really truely is Dead as it is...

And the whole Wokism BS that is being spread around
all over the place as if it's a Viral Plague?? Is not even
something that is bothering many Gamers at all, but
many People want these true Gamers to believe it is,
when it really isn't, ~_~

The same Statement can be said about Cartoons, TV, Movies,
& Hollywood as a whole as an added form of debate about TV, too...

As a matter of fact Power Rangers was actually the End of
Sit Com Popularity which aired in the 90's, & didn't really
make Game Shows a great alternative, either...

Today is 2024, & Sit Com's are still around, but
their Popularity hasn't actually improved since at all,
& yes, that would mean that TV Shows have technically
been dead for somewhere around 24 Years now,
& People Today probably don't even realize it at all...

What do you think??

BG3 and Rust are fun. Just stay off official's on Rust, they are cheat fests. BG3 is good solo and multiplayer.

Oh, I see what you mean...

Fun is where you find it. Games evolve and change over time. You have to as well. Try a different genre of game. Try a coop shooter instead of the pvp shooter. Try party games with friends. Try VR games.

Take what you think you like and try something different from that.

man, this reminds me of my struggles with fatalis in mhw
I can relate, op. I watched many videos, read a lot of discussions and strategies on how to beat that post-game boss. and even then, it took hours of attempts to finally beat him by the skin of my teeth. less than one minute before I hit the time limit

Challenging and Beatable has had many interpretations over the decades. Ask a NES veteran what passed as challenging and beatable..

That's a skill issue rthen. YOu need to up your game skills to beat the boss. Bosses always function as tests for master of some mechanic or system. Usually the one introduced most recently.

Saying you finished games does not remove this from being a skill issue. I mean DOra the Explorer is a game you can finish....Doesn't mean you have the skills to beat Ninja Gaiden.

Advuice. Think about the mechanics the game recently introduced. or that you have at your disposal and maybe reconsider how you use them. In all fairness some games do a terrible job of teaching the player about their mechanics.

I am playing both very easy and very challenging games. I don't have problems with neither.

If something is unfun, I just go for another one.

Every Mega Man on NES. All am gonna say. Games with challenge just means you don't have the knowledge to beat them yet. Takes practice.

I remember playing The Surge. Very first boss was so freaking hard. Until I realized I am fighting him wrong...

This as well. There's a guide or solution for everything in every game to exist nearly online. This aint the old times, where had to fork out moola for Nintendo Power or whatever gaming magazine for your console at the time.

If a game has something annoying, I just drop it and play something else. Lots of fun games to play.
