average completion rate
Good evening.
I have 355 games. But I only play 10-15 of them.
My average completion rate is 34%. I would like to delete about 50 games that I never play anyway because I find them boring. But that doesn't increase the completion rate, does it? I would be forced to bring them to 100% with the Steam Archievement Manager before deleting them, but that's like cheating and I don't want to do that. Because then my rate would be better than it actually is. Contacting Steam Support about this is also out of the question as there is absolutely no way to do this.

I would like to reduce my Steam account to a few games that I like, with a completion rate that is correct. Am I the only one who has this problem?

Hello,

I am not sure, if someone already responded with clear answer here..Except of those stupid comments about ''Achievements got no value'' and so on. I am actually on the same page, that achievements on Steam, do not actually have any value and does not mean anything. BUT I am also 1 of the people, that prefer nice looking profile as well. So I understand :). Not to mention, that it is pretty ''annoying'' for some people as well.

Back to your question: If you own 355 games for example...And you played only 10 and got all achievements in them...You will have 100% completion. I was searching about this kind of topic a lot. I found, that any game you own, which you did not get any achievement in, DO NOT count for achievement progress. Sadly if you managed to somehow get 1 achievement from for example 70. Then the achievement completion will be counted towards it. And yes, it cannot be undone by any means. Either contacting support to delete your game and so on. So some games that are basically not available anymore (server shutdown) etc. will always be the nightmare under your bed XD.

Have a great day :).

your completion rate is currently correct. you are the one trying to fake their completion rate by removing games you didnt complete. no one is forcing you to do anything except YOU.

why are you so concerned about your completion rate? achievements dont do anything, they dont have any value, they dont show what kind of person you are.

I'm not looking for someone to tell me that I'm okay the way I am. You already have your parents for that and I'm not in a personal crisis.

I just want to know from someone who knows whether there is a way to do this.
there is always Help / steam support for account questions..

Where does one even find their "completion rate"? Or do you need to calculate it yourself?
(and what's the definition of "complete", anyway? Saw the ending credits? 100%'d the game? Got all the achievements?)

He's referring to the achievement stuff. It's about having 100% of the achievements in a game.

I don't know how one would access that number; it's shown in achievement-related showcases, but other than that... no idea.

if you private a game it will affect your completion rate as seen by others, so you can private them if you're that bothered. note that it will still look the same to you.

"[achievements] dont have any value, they dont show what kind of person you are."

Well..... that's wrong.

Also the world is 3-dimensional, not 2-. This is probably news to you. YW.

What value do they have?

How do they show 'what kind of person' you are?

These questions left as an exercise for the reader, and the poster.

thank u snappy!
The funny thing is that only people who have nothing to contribute to my question actually reply. But someone told them that now would be a good time to open their mouths. I don't advise hairdressers when I'm a baker either.

I only advise people in an area in which I have at least basic knowledge. At least that's how I've always done it personally.

I was already afraid of that.
Hopefully Steam will do something about it at some point.

Thanks for this useful answer! I've noticed that many people are no longer capable of making a good contribution ;)

No problem at all. I would also like some changes in this tbh...As I mentioned I was searching a lot and found some explained details about this. It took quite a lot, cuz not many people care about this. Anyway, in my opinion, the worst case are achievements, that are actually impossible to get (shutdowned games/achievements tied to certain limited events in those games). Problem is, that Steam basically ''hold'' these informations about achievements forever. Until 1 simple condition: Developer delisting a game achievement from his side. Sadly the most devs are lazy and do not care about delisting or removing achievements from games like this. Steam would need to enforce the rule like for example Microsoft, that basically EVERY achievement must be available to complete. Otherwise, they are getting completely delisted from achievements page. This way, for example Xbox achievements are not also valuable, but also always ''up to date'' and able to be completed. And like a cherry on top: If you cheat achievements for example on Xbox gamepass (pc)...Then you can get pernamently banned from that system= your own personal microsoft account bans and so on. Steam do not care at all, that is why SAM is allowed and that is why it does not matter to cheat them or not. Also that is why...This system of achievements sucks so much. Cuz achievements on Steam got no value. On the other hand, Xbox ones are valuable and if you cheat them, you get banned pretty easily.

Sorry for essay and hope it helped at least a bit.
