How to send a scheduled gift on steam?

Every year I gift my friend a steam digital gift card for their birthday. I would rather gift them a game but steam just won't allow that since I am Canadian and they are American. So its been gift cards for the last few years. I am trying to do the same this year but the option to schedule it to be received on their birthday doesn't seem to be there anymore. Am I just overlooking something or is that no longer a thing?

I don't know if this was ever a thing. It sounds to me like you're trying to transfer funds between accounts and you can't do that. Steam makes it very clear that they don't want us moving money between accounts because it can lead to shady activity. Not that this is shady, this is fine. But they have to keep a standard.

There was never an option to schedule gift cards. It was and is only for game gifts.
