There should be a new tag for online only singleplayer games
There's been a couple of times when I bought a game that had the tag SINGLEPLAYER thinking it was a game I can play completely on my own and offline, live service games for example.

Obviously you should always do your research to find out what kind of features a game offers before buying it but isn't that what tags are for to inform others what to expect when looking at a game's store page through these tags?

Games change and evolve so the way we categorise them should also change and evolve. So I would like to suggest a new tag for live service or games that have singleplayer but require you to connect online to actually play.

SOLOPLAYER
or just
SOLOPLAY

I think this tag should replace the singleplayer tag for games that require you to be online. It perfectly describes playing single player while still in a multiplayer environment.

I am not against the tag but I would suggest switching it around to Offline capable or Offline functional. You can be a soloplayer in a MMO for example so that blurs the line and definition.

By switching it around the people who care about not being online can immediate see that the game is suitable for them. The others who do not care about it do not have to bother about the extra tag and can continue on as usual.

Less friction less confusion.
Why do singleplayer have an online requirement?

The Steam DRM wrapper is an important part of Steam platform because it verifies game ownership and ensures that Steamworks features work properly by launching Steam before launching the game.
The tag-system is inherently a flawed system. We're not going to use it.
