Whats up with people adding me and removing me?

Lately, I got bunch of random friend requests, I accept them and ask them the simple "sup, why did u add me?" and then they remove me shortly after, some even block me. Without even saying a word.

Like.....why? I never met any of these people in any games or in any forums or groups. They seem to come out of nowhere and just add me. Their accounts look normal, can't say they were scammers or anything since they didn't say a thing.

They were waiting to scam you out of your knife but you reacted to quickly.

Usually my knife is hidden, and even then they still added me.

Inventory not worth enough, or they're looking to get your friends who may also have items but less experience/wits

Most scammers tend to go for those with cheaper knives since they think they will have more luck with them than with someone who has 10k euro inventory.

Scam scouts. The friend you to see what you have in your inventory. If your inventory is not worth taking, they unfriend you immediately. If it is, then they start the wheels turning for their scams.

Keep your inventory private and not set to friends only. There is a bug in steam that people can see a friends only profile when they send you a friend invite. Someone sent me a friends invite and i was able to see their profile. After denying their invite their profile went back to private.
