Only insofar as they wont get my money by doing it.
Back when Ghost of Thushima was refunded from every player from this 170 countries, nobody talked about it. Sony understood that they can do everything now. At that point, I tried every source to find any information about that. So, I found out that if I buy an Playstation console, in my banned country where is easy to buy both and console and games, I can register a PSN account from my neighbour country, Romania or Ukraine. So I managed to get to Playstation support, and they told me that: I can do that only on Playstation! This thing is not available on PC because if I will make and Romanian PSN and link it with my Steam from Republic of Moldova, I will eventually get banned. So there is no logic in that. Moldova has a big Playstation community. Some of them were playing with Russian PSN because Moldova is not an available region.
So, after the war in Ukraine happened, every account which was registered in Russian region, got banned. Players from Moldova tried to talk with Playstation to open Moldova region, BUT, Playstation told them that they should register a new one in Romanian region. Why then, If I have a console, I can register from any neighbour country, but If I am on PC I can’t? And who thinks this 170 countries are some random unknown countries, will be shocked to see that there are countries like Estonia, Lithuania.. which are part of European Union.
This is the important part. This used to be a sleeper problem because those people could just shift to neighboring countries via Playstation consoles, and their falsified regional settings would be condoned.
But with Sony deciding to bring the PSN stuff to PC in a more strict manner, it is now going to be brought to fore -- and in quite a strong way: directly from disgruntled customers -- that Sony is segregating and restricting access within the EEA internal market region.
It's only a matter of time until the EU will take notice and will slap them with a fine.

IIRC, Steam was the one to remove it from sale in those countries when the whole thing blew up.
That was Just a rumour, it was Sony.
