Why is STEAM censoring games?

I understand putting porn games behind a filter, but why is Steam starting to do the same crap that Sony pulled?

I owned even Playstation home console from 1 to 4, including the hardware backwards compatible PS3. I owned the PS Vita as well. And rather than buy a PS5, I upgraded my PC, bought a Switch, and bought a Steam Deck for me and one for my friend, all because Sony pulled crap like this and killed the Senran Kagura series. Why is Steam now starting down the same road?

And just to clarify, that game I linked contains no nudity.

No, just like "Nipple%" speedruns of Super Mario Odyssey do not make it a Nintendo porn game for children.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. You can't claim that fan actions are deterministic of a game's core in one case but somehow not in another.

But you can go "well if the game developers say the game has frequent nudity, I will take them at their word."

There are a few exceptions. I have two titles in my library categorized as "adult only" despite having no nudity or sexual content whatsoever. But the developer wasn't forced to use said category.

Sure, but you're going to need to take it up with the devs. Valve isn't going to unflag it as long as the devs are claiming it has frequent sexual content.

SteamDB and the game's store page don't show the same. If you access the store page it says "Frequent nudity or sexual content", not "Adult only". The categories on the store and on SteamDB seem to be mismatched.

While support was giving me heads up game is label Z for adults in Japan, even their official website giving warning, the department I reach out to explain they prefer game to be label for adults due to their regional regulations, and they said they don't need to explain why they should need to explain to anyone for their games, or future changes they make to their games.

TLDR: Publisher made the changes because they can, and don't care what someone thinks how their game should be labeled.

SteamDB is accurate. The adult only bracket is why you can not see the store/community hub when logged out, why the community hub displays the adult only messaging, and why there is an info box informing you that the game is marked as containing 'frequent nudity or sexual content'.

There is a difference between the category 'adult only' and the content descriptor 'adult only sexual content'. "This game is adult only" messaging is exclusive to the adult only sexual content descriptor.
