Got a game ban for a negative review

Title says it, I wrote a negative review about the dev and their game. Now the dev put out a ban on me, and now it reflects on my account :/ anything I can do about this?

The game in question is "The Backrooms Deluxe"

you can appeal it but it wasn't the devs that banned it, valve did

it's possible the devs reported it, but it was valve's decision to ban it

thing about the ban is, it says it's issued by the individual game

thought you meant your review was banned, i misread

can't do nothing about a game ban, it's in the devs discretion

If the review broke the rules anyhow, this might be why you got in troubles. If you didn't, try and contact support about it and explain the situation to them. It's all you can do.

Checked all of the users that showed negative reviews feature on the store page. Only you received a game ban. Presumably it's not simply for leaving a negative review. If that were the case, I'd expect to have seen others.

Edit 2: From the Dev: "since you like being a total jerk, here's something for you" and had a whole youtube video of all the negative reviews.
Dev needs to learn how to take criticism and bad reviews. You don't see AAA game devs coming out to defend their game over every little negative review.

Contact the support. I mean, you didn't cheat, you just gave your opinion...

I've looked at a few of the developer's responses to negative reviews. Sometimes he really insults people, makes yt videos about the criticism he gets... Someone's ready for vacation, I'd say.

I would report the game on the store page and include everything, especially that video.
Else, contact Steam Support. If they are making videos like this and the other users end up banned that leave a negative review then it would display a pattern. Though one of the people in the vid during a short look is the top listed & negative review, and doesn't appear to have a game ban as of this post. So it might've been for what was said and how it was said, though their video doesn't help the situation, at all.

Literally one of them was:

Bruh, that is not a good look.

Game devs are not allowed to issue game bans for reviews, regardless of how negative or rude the content was.

The most they should have done was to report your review.

i would still ask steam to look into it

but maybe just give your review and then let it go
