I've stopped posting in the forum for some time now and will not post further
because the paid moderation is the worst moderation I've seen in 25 years of posting in forums. The only thing I do in the forum is read from time to time and it is so sad to see that the most blatant forum trolls can literally do the most blatant trolling, use multiple accounts to talk to each other and spam in threads while the person who calls such trolls out because they are understandably sick and tired of the moderation and trolls get community and forum banned.

And whenever you write a support ticket you only get copy paste macro answers and they don't even read tickets at all.

And as any big company nowadays there is no way to get in contact with actual humans who can change things.

Everyone including any former community moderator agrees that the paid moderation is bad and they got worse and worse over the years to a point where now not a single CS forum veteran posts in the forum anymore. Paid moderation literally killed the forum on their own.

Imagine how little these moderator care about everything and how they lack the ability to moderate when clearly a person with 4 accounts baits in threads for days and spams hundreds of posts and then you just lock the thread because "it got derailed" just so he creates the same thread again and there ban people who call him out because reporting does nothing.

Paid moderator only do one thing and that is banning those who're sick and tired of the moderation and trolls while the trolls and harasser can post and post and post.

Valve should just shut off the forum. I remember a time where the steam community member were bragging about having a forum while Valorant for example has none. I tell you: Having no forum is better than showcasing the lack of care and ability to take care of the community and those who interupt it.

Congratz Valve, you killed your own forum because you decided against community moderator who were doing their job just fine and even waste your money for a external company who not only doesn't moderate the forum but they moderate it so bad that it is damaging. You can better not have any moderation at all and just let everyone post whatever they want because at least then every user is equal and knows that they don't get randomly banned while others can freely harass, bait and troll.

I'm out.

No, just that statement right now. Since, again, if Sweet Baby was that involved in moderation, those complaints wouldn't exist.

You can literally look at OT and see how many threads would be removed(but aren't) if they were that involved.
What do OT means ?

As alway moderation sometime fail.

Even myself shoud got a warning sometime and got nothing.

They probably receive more than thousand and thousand report everyday.

I still look for a proof sweet baby inc is not the paid mod.

Maybe we will never know, maybe a day we will.

But considering valve do no games nowaday and they are an big clients like naughty dog and all...

+ yes Sweet baby is canadian and not from quebec (even if its the same for me) they are in Montréal.

You don't prove they aren't part of the mod team, you prove that they are.

The amount of threads in OT that would be removed by them is much more than just "sometimes moderation fails".

Which, again, makes this whole conspiracy fall flat.

That’s equal to “let’s say the mods aren’t dragons — then what are they?” It’s not a valid method.

…. Still what do ot means ….

Abbreviation for the Off Topic section of the fora.

Well, I guess you're making the wrong question here.

If they're not involved in moderation, then what is their involvement with Valve?

if steam mods literally tell us a post is an easy ban and steam mods ban us when we report that type of post its just over for steam mods as far as reputation goes. steam mods obviously arent putting any effort in when they handle ♥♥♥♥ and given my own experience so far its all self inflicted wounds due to a lack of effot by steam mods..

the worst part is steam is violating their own rules and to stupid to see how they are being exploited by the very people who are why said rules exist to punish.

Didn’t make the post? So you were banned for a post? That’s not at all banned for making a report. Your explanation is a bit unclear.

no.* it is clear.

i literally said it as it happened. it was never going to make sense.

1 person fused my post with a 3rd persons in a qoute to start a fight.

he was in a group of people who admitted to the targeted harassment one of which was willing to get banned to get me banned and i made sure to report those posts to steam so i know steam knowns

it was a 7 day ban it was the post i reported and it was because there where so many false flags agiasnt me that the mod literally did not pay attention. i checked 24 hours and there was a your ban was appealed in the box. let me see if i can find where they hid those messages im pretty sure i still have it. i didnt even make the post just the report. ive seen steam mods say that they can both see edits all of them and fused qoutas to pick fights is a ban.

i think they remove the posts you get from steam if you successfully appeal so i dont have it i know i didnt delete it personally because it was such an obvious problem.

Yeah. I have not regularly posted there in quite some time. Just a few one offs here and there. Too much spam going on.

:winterbunny2023:
Exactly. There isn't a way to have a good conversation. Neither the user nor the moderator are helping the situation but make it worse.

And you can sadly see how rude and childish people are here aswell. More than half of the posts here are just childish and yet the person who received a ban was one of the few people who had good arguments and actually understood this post.

Also interesting enough the same day I posted this thread someone else made an interesting reddit post about the whole moderation situation. It's not about steam but blizzard - but it is the exact same situation.
https://www.reddit.com/r/classicwow/comments/1aw9ds0/customer_support_said_that_my_permanent_ban_was/

I found that because vaquely follow a german gaming news website and that was the first post I saw today.
https://www.buffed.de/World-of-Warcraft-Spiel-42971/News/wow-game-master-kundendienst-support-1441635/

So not only have veteran user the "feeling" that something is off - and not only former moderator speak about it aswell - but also we get more and more evidence about the critcism made.

Amazon uses chatbots for a long time. Other big comapnies aswell. And gaming websites/companies/developer who are very big also do it now for couple of years.

There are only two things we can do: Just live with it and the consquences or step back from that and not use it anymore. There is a reason why I stopped posting on faceboook, twitter, in blizzard forums and now in steam. It's hopeless as long those companies don't get into financial trouble.

Disney, Netflix, MCU etc. all notice the financial trouble now because many people can't stand their movies and series anymore and stopped buying it. Madame web for example got barely any viewer in the cinemas. People criticised things, the companies did it further, now they have to live with the consequences.

Twitch, twitter, facebook etc. all also get sued by people who get into trouble with these websites for false reasons. KuchenTV, one of the biggest german streamer just got his account back after he sued twitch. Sadly this is actually necessary to get attention from such companies. For them we're just few numbers of many.

I guess in 5-10 years things will change to the better again. It always has been like that with things.
