In order to change your region you have to have a form of payment from that region. And the cooldown for region changes is 90 days.

If the game isn't available in your region, the restriction isn't there as a wink and a nudge to see how clever or determined you are to violate the Steam Subscriber Agreement. And getting caught region hopping can result in serious consequences for your account.

It's not that easy, no.

And you can face an account lock for fraud for doing so.

There is only one legal way to change regions
https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/2B3F-DAEF-846B-A0E8

If you have moved to a new place, or are living abroad for an extended period of time, you can update your Steam country setting when you complete your first purchase using a payment method from that country. If your location differs from your current Steam account store country setting you'll have an option to change your store country while you view your cart or as you complete your purchase. You will only have the option to change your store country once every 3 months.

Keep in mind you lose access to games that are region locked outside of your new location until you move your location back.

If you use this to bypass country restrictions without residing in the country your changing to however than your in direct violation of several laws and your account can get banned.
Worse if it was content that is strictly forbidden in your country you might face more severe charges if it escalates. That however would depend on your country some are of course more lenient than others.

Like lets say your country does not like the portrayal of gods in a Southpark game if that country is Germany it might be they sell a censored version of the game. You just tried to get the uncensored version and thus violated the law which might result in a fine or warning. Now in a scenario where your country is in the Middle East for example and this game is strictly banned well you might face jail time or worse.

I would not recommend it. Steam would not care if it was not legally required to do so. Unfortunately governments have a different take on the matter.

I think Sony's intent is to make a PSN account a requirement in future releases and as a result won't make games available in regions they don't support via PSN. And while they may have relented in the situation with Helldivers 2 requiring PSN because they didn't restrict sales previously to unsupported countries I don't think the outcome is them giving up on PSN. Realistically the outcome is to be careful not to make their games available in regions they don't support.

So hopefully Sony supports more countries via PSN and adds newly supported countries back in for available purchases. But that doesn't seem seem like an outcome that's going to happen in the short term.

Yeah that's the only solution hope they find a way to add at least the majority of the delisted countries for PSN cause these issues encourage Piracy
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
