So many people have mentioned the guy playing the steamdeck over a pool that I'd say the marketing campaign worked as intended.

You're right of course, it's not a wise behaviour to encourage... but the guy is an actor, the cost of the SteamDeck pales into insignificance next to the cost of the ad, and marketers aren't exactly known for being ethical and responsible.

Sometimes you just know you're in for a sitting and it's always good to take something with you.

Mr ALT Account doesn't know what it is like to have a Steam Deck, they kept wanting one for free a while back, so, they only take yesterdays newspaper as they pay homage to the porcelain god.

Newspaper might actually more viable information then anything you would see on the steam deck with its default steam os running. Sadly if your gonna try to play a game while doing a #2 you are gonna be done way before the game ever loads.
