Got "Failed to load steamUI.dll" error
After a windows 10 update this night, I got the Failed to load SteamUI.dll error. Reinstalling Steam doesn't seems to work.
Did anyone got the same issue?

As a follow up, I tried to :
reboot PC -> doesn't work
remove steamUI.dll & restart steam -> doesn't work
uninstall & reinstall Steam -> doesn't work
According to microsoft (used their compatibility issue solving app), it answer that Steam is not compatible.

I had a window 10 update last night. So best guess, their update is messing with a few dll (SteamUI is not the only one giving me headaches, even for NVIDIA there are issues).

Am i the only one with this issue? I'm tempted to uninstall the offending sin updates and try again.
Try to search steam discussions or google or Youtube for 'Failed to load steamUI.dll' to find solution. As example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQBkCS1f8a0

I checked the steam discussions + google.
Most of the solutions didn't work (even with full reinstall), or required to have a working Steam client (which I didn't have).
My last option was the windows rollback. This did work (as long as I turn off the automatic updates).
Best guess, the windows update included something that SteamUI.dll didn't like. I had several error messages for other dll.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)

To do this, follow these steps:

Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, do the following as your appropriate:

If you are running Windows 10, Windows 8.1 or Windows 8, first run the inbox Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool prior to running the System File Checker.

Type the following command, and then press Enter. It may take several minutes for the command operation to be completed.

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Important: When you run this command, DISM uses Windows Update to provide the files that are required to fix corruptions.

After. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

sfc /scannow

The sfc /scannow command will scan all protected system files, and replace corrupted files with a cached copy that is located in a compressed folder at %WinDir%\System32\dllcache.
The %WinDir% placeholder represents the Windows operating system folder. For example, C:\Windows.

Note Do not close this Command Prompt window until the verification is 100% complete. The scan results will be shown after this process is finished.

No one could help me. I uninstalled the latest Windows update and everything works as if nothing happened. Good luck. :steamhappy:
