Game font size
I'm using steam for linux mint 21.3, and I noticed all my games both native and running under proton have a VERY tiny font. The steam client itself is not effected. Can I change the game font size (NOT the client font size). Thank you

Same with windows. Just got a new wide screen monitor and reading anything on steam is brutal. And not just games. ANYTHING is a challenge. No way to adjust font size?
prepare to be payed out, study computer programing and then get a job for the game as the font man and then you can probably change the font size in the game............
i like your discussion subject

Uh, not talking game font. Steam font itself is all in fine print. Most games you have "some" control. Steam... not a thing.

Actually made a discovery on this last week. Its not a steam, or even app issue. Its something to do with X11. When I launched with wayland to try something else all the fonts showed correctly.

Monitor screen size has nothing to do with UI/font size! This depends on the PPI value of the monitor (the ratio of monitor size to resolution).
If you want to increase the UI/font sizes, then:
1. Windows Settings → System → Dysplay → Scale (Select 125%, or 150%, or 200%...)
2. Steam Settings → Interface → Select "Scale text and icons to match monitor settings"
Setting the font size of the system itself wreaks havoc with other programs. Not games... programs in general.
Maybe ask in Linux Mint forums?
I think you are more likely to get useful replies there than over here.

I'm in windows. No option to change steam font size. Games... usually some option. Steam... none.

Again, setting windows settings wreaks havoc with some programs. For instance, Photoshop and other adobe programs are brutalized and cannot be run efficiently. So it's set for steam and then go back when running anything else. Many programs are finicky with odd settings. It's steam that is the major problem.

It is not true. Almost any modern monitor requires scaling (due to higher pixel density). Also, any modern application supports scaling, including Photoshop. I'm using 125% scaling and everything looks great: https://imgur.com/a/42o0aw6
@garyoa1 -- are you maybe using a very old version of Photoshop?

As the previous poster said, Adobe Photoshop newest versions should handle this fine.
(and have for many years now)

Yes CS6 since I refuse to rent it. However it is not just PS suites. But that's all irrelevant. It's steam that has no option to resize.

If the Steam interface looks small to you on the new monitor, then all the other software also looks smaller than before. You need to change scaling in Windows settings: https://i.imgur.com/ZpuI3Ow.png
PS Or you can use Steam through your browser and change the scale as you please.
