something weird is going on with your account
https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/70D8-0BCC-C47E-F498
Do these steps to secure your account effectively:-
1. Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a clean computer.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key (there should be no key). https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey
and then when you submit a new ticket it should stick.
But other than that I find it hard to believe my account is compromised, I have 2FA Steam Authenticator and haven't had any sus login attempts or anything. Also no I haven't received any official writing from Valve or any emails about the closings other than the first one I get saying "We have received your support request".
Will open a new ticket now with the API key removed and see what happens
2FA is not a shield that makes an account immune to being compromised/stolen. it is more like body armor, provides extra protection only, it does not make you immune to bullets.
The thing is, to setup an api key one needs to have access to your account for a short time.
If the key is set then they can do basic stuff on your account without the need to login, as they use the api access for that.
Maybe there should be a warning that using an API Key may cause issues when applying for a refund.
But thanks for looking out, definitely won't be signing up for any 3rd party sites anymore
I've followed @J4MESOX4D steps and opened a new ticket, so far it's not auto closed so will update the post later, thanks all
EXAMPLE let say you have two keys two open your Car door, 1st one is a NORMAL Car key for the 1st lock on Car door, and the 2nd is a MAGICAL key that changes forms every 30 seconds with the 2nd lock on the Car door, and some random guys asked for my keys, and you gave that random guy your keys, guess what happens? Not a trick question.
The randon person use both keys to open the Car door, and drive off, while you make a Pikachu face trying to figure out how the random person get in your car.
