Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered doesn't really have its share of junk cars, but it starts with sporty cars and goes all the way to hyper cars and they all look beautiful. If you are happy with new cars after new cars then the progression is very satisfying though.
In general, Need for Speed Games from the PS2/PS3 era got this kind of progression down perfectly, but the bad news is Steam doesn't have very many of them left on its store. They don't make those kinds of racing games that much anymore.
Need for Speed Unbound could be a return to form in that sense, but I've heard mixed things about it. Need for Speed Heat can be found for dirt cheap, and probably has some of what you are after. If you want to go for the most recent stuff, I'd say start there, or look at GRID.
i did play need for speed hot pursuit heat unbound and most wanted on xbox or the EA launcher.
i also did test drive ultimate 2 on xbox 360 YEARS AGO but now it seems outdated, im very dissapointed that forza horizon is changed as forza horizon 3 was perfect, and i downloaded t again on my xbox,
its dissapointing that the audience just want to drive cars worth millions instead of feeling the satisfaction that you made it to drive a super/hypercar
