I wish, but there are probably tons of issues with getting it to run on modern operating systems, if not the licensing issues that tend to plague older games.
I think that some games now has the same files as the rockstar games launcher version

Wouldn't be any different from someone who purchased the game back when it was readily available.
I still can't play GTAV because I want to play on modded servers without risk of a VAC ban as Rockstar are never clear about it... Ridiculous situation and why I didn't bother buying Red Dead.
