I also wouldn't mind having the ability to use the address bar without having to put steam://openurl/ in the browser.
K... Open a new window with middle mouse or control+clicking any link, like on a users avatar and paste a link in that window.
It is a minor issue, but could probably be done in an hour or less.
I definitely use the alternate window to enter and edit URLs on a daily basis.
Seriously, middle mouse click or control+clicking my avatar and enter or edit the URL to navigate to another Steam page in that new window.
Alright, a miscommunication indeed and I'll concede on that, the overlay browser can do what the OP is talking about. I avoid the overlay browser whenever I can, so I didn't think of it. It boils down to a matter of inconvenience. Still doesn't change the fact that the address bar at the top of the steam client itself is one-way.
Anyway, I'm out. I've lurked enough to see even teeny tiny requests with no negative impact like this one get dog piled by the community.
It's like this due to security concerns.
And with the amount of hijackings still occurring, I dont blame Valve.
