Literally isn't real.

Microsoft wanting to buy Steam and Steam being for sale are two completely different things. One is a rumor and the other is never going to happen.

Fake news, as mentioned in the other 30+ topics already started about this.

MicroShaft buying Valve would not happen as it would be an anti competitive move.
Buying the competition to remove them as competition won't be allowed.
It's one thing if it is a game studio, but buying your competitors to remove the competition is a big no.

I really dislike how a youtuber or person on twitter can get so many people to make threads & tweets about things.
For starters, if you read the reviews of MS's own store for games; many people can't even download anything they purchase/own, so there's no chance Valve would be bought by a company so incompetent that people can't even download games through their terrible excuse for a "store". It's also safe to say if MS wants to offer a specific amount to acquire something, it's likely worth at least 10x more than they're offering.
Since MS is screwing up with their own store, their OS's, and are turning so many things to subscriptions including server OS's for amount of operators, I very much doubt Valve would ever consider being acquired by such a terrible company.

In short; random tweets or youtubers making clickbait videos especially meant to have people share their stuff or react strongly doesn't mean anything other than wanting views/interactions. Some 'creators' or individuals will do anything for people to talk about them.

OP read the blog you posted, at the end you see this.

Let me reiterate that this news-story currently is nothing more than a rumor.

MS is literally going the opposite direction - their game division (realizing they've spent too much $) is busily closing studios and canceling projects. No, they're not going to go on another uber buying spree.

We'll see, but I really doubt that it will be sold.

The person who wrote the article linked their source of their "rumored" information...

And if you read that, you can see the "rumor" even has a copy/pasted meme picture of GabeN.

Why do people blindly trust CS2 players so much? $$$

Straight from the article. It would be doubtful even if Valve wanted to sell that the FTC or others would even allow the sale.

From viewing his social trackers, he's kinda in a rut. Stagnating and needs attention.

Look, it's gonna happen one day. But it's not the end of the world. We'll likely get much better customer services, we can play our games without the need for these expensive boondoggles. It's gonna be fine.

Deep breath. Mr Newell is not gonna live forever, or is going to retire.
