Rumors should not be taken seriously.

Where is all this coming from? Is there some new news story or something? Maybe Mr Newell is retiring and selling it? These rumors were years old, and now it seems everyone is popping the question again.

Worst that'll happen is we'll get to play Steam thru Xbox Stream or something, which is a good thing. Save money on these expensive PCs, and don't have to worry about new OS shutting out your games on that.

Don't know where/when it started again but it is on various forums, Twitter and not so trustworthy tech sites.

It's on the internet, rumor is a cash offer was made from MS to purchase Valve outright ($16bil.).

That's less than what Valve makes in a year.

This pretty much. Funny people bringing up ancient stuff as if it means anything.

Valve stands at $7-8 Billion in 2022 & 2023 each, so yeah, this offer just might be accepted.

It's old news and Microsoft decided to buy Activision-Blizzard instead.

It's a bargain bin purchase for MS. Not to mention, it's not publically traded, and likely would move quick.

I've read everything there is to be said so far about this topic including the new updates that are currently being revealed,

They are playing the long game to snatch up Nintendo and Valve, Whenever both are ready for a takeover its gonna happen, just a matter of when at this point,

And seeing as Gabe keeps selling shares of Valve and currently only owns 20% shares nothing saying the majority board members dont agree to overall sell to MSFT

This is gonna happen with or without Gabe,

Sadly i can see Microsoft forcing Valve to kill off Support for Linux and support Windows, Hell Next Steam Deck will most likely run Windows 12 with tight integration if this happens in the near future :spycon:

Linus for LTT talked about how he was offered, I think it was, 500 million for all of the LTT enterprises in 2022? He refused and said, Im pretty good, my wife and family are all pretty good whats more money? I have a lot of other ideas, etc. / Im paraphrasing of course. But money isnt everything, especially knowing you have what they want.

For a YouTube channel and small team/crew...

I'd of taken the money, more so cause LTT has been on life support for years now with their recent controversies, Also Linus and other team members will eventually want to slow down and retire,

Same can be said for Gabe Newell :steamsad:
