And there's the problem. You'd imagine that Ubisoft still don't really like doing business with Valve. The last thing they'd want to do is pay them a chunk of every MTX for the game and would prefer to keep all the proceeds for themselves. Hence, XDefiant ain't on Steam.

What I meant Is that Steam probably has a team to convince companies to use their platform.
Yeah but they also know that they will miss a bit of income as some people like to use steam only.
They don't need to convince Ubisoft to do anything they don't want to do.
I find it better if they kept their mediocre game on their own service. Valve has their own mediocre shooter releasing later this year to be less excited about.
Why would they need one?
A lot of players are already so biased that they won't buy outside of steam..... and the bigger publishers like Ubisoft do not need the Steam players to sell enough on their own.
They only sell on steam after some time to get the few extra bucks after sales toned down.
