The initial Support mods were chill, responded to them and some even had their comments open on their profiles. Most, if not all of them are abandoned or deleted now, funneling all moderation to the ticket system.

That's subjective. And I've noticed that people who tend to get banned, have a much looser idea of what "tame" is.

(which goes along with the "90% of the 'I got no idea why I got banned threads, it's obvious why they got banned" thing)

If you disagree with decisions from Mods you reply directly to the Community Message you received.

Posting about it in the forums will give you another Warning/Ban at best.
If you are lucky closing the Thread is all they will do.

Pretty sure they actually responded to me once to explain why I should stop what I was doing. People complaining about mods on Steam forums are jack asses. Be glad you have humans and not AI.

As mentioned in the Thread I was talking about contacting Steam Support of course, I have not once actually made a reply to the Message itself, mostly because I didn't know you could even do that.

That being said Steam Support has removed every Warning and/or Ban that I thought was genuinely unfair. So I have only positive things to say about the whole process.

there could be incentives to badly moderate for in house team building
and creating examples of what not to do in the future....

Why do you think the Steam community is the way it is. These regulars love the rules and being policed by AI, so much in fact they actively contribute by reporting other people for having opinions that they don't like and hurt their little feelings.
