Kingdom Hearts is coming to Steam!

Kingdom Hearts announced on social media that the franchise will be coming to Steam this summer! I seriously cannot wait and I know many of you feel the same! I really hope we get some good achievements, badges and other goodies!

Are they going to add cards, badges, emoticons and backgrounds or would they just go for Points Shop items?

No offense, but publishers and developers like to get payed for nostalgia and old stuff in hard currency and exorbitant prices - This also prevents innovations and new brandings. But if consumers want to have the same products for decades over and over again, it's their own fault. It's just a shame that such a business model is successful. Unfortunately, I am also a part of it.

Well, despite criticism, the stuff will sell on Steam like hotcakes anyway

I don't know. The main draw of the series was the mish mash of Disney characters and Final Fantasy characters.

The problem is Disney is ruining more current games with their meddling. So all we have now are the older games from before. The recent Capcom versus Marvel stuff for example. They don't want the Fantastic 4 in the new stuff, nor X-men because they want to devalue the movie rights they sold off to Fox a long time ago. They want those movie rights back basically. Also, they change the other characters to be more like the recent MCU stuff so it pushes MCU sales.

Likewise for Kingdom Hearts 3. Hard not to feel like the reason Disney and FF characters aren't doing interesting things in that game anymore is because Disney demanded they follow the movie plot verbatim. Leaving Final Fantasy characters with no where to be until they made DLC for them.

I was so excited, ready to buy *yet another* copy of each of these games,... but they only have the windows icon. Not mac. I feel devastated right now. I hope we get mac support soon. This is one of my favorite game sets of all time.

The only one I ever bothered to play was the first one on PS2. Then they went off of they rocker, introduced newer characters, made everything needlessly convoluted, etc. All interest was lost instantly.

Good thing about the collection is it's all in order so you can make sense of everything. The story is a little crazy, but I think the main problem with it was just that main story was spread out on handhelds. I do think the first game is a good stand alone if you just wanted to drop the games after that though.

I will by happy if they let me buy KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days Cut-scene compilation as a separate product. To me that was the only kingdom heart story I actually liked. The game was awful in repetition but it kinda ruined the rest of the games story telling for me because it was bleak, dark almost pointless and had flawed but more believable personalities. And one of those rare moments where a Disney approved product had no happy ending at all. The others went the safer story route.

The compilation would have been enough where it not for the jarring text expositions sprinkled throughout and the lack of some really important fight scenes. But it is still better than having to play through 25+ hours on a Nintendo DS in low resolution.

i have it on xbox and holy hell it's a bunch of boring ass games, i regret so much paying full price when it launched. hence why you only buy physical copies on console so you have something to sell
