Complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I can't pass on my Steam account when I die.
I've had this account for almost 20 years.
In another 20 I'll be dead.

I have almost 1,000 games. Get your ♥♥♥♥ together.

go to https://steamdb.info/calculator/ and see what your account is worth, but please keep it to yourself. no need to advertise.
For that to work they have to allow public view of the data which means the moment they do that any one can just try it themselves if its cached long enough.

Text when viewing a restricted view id
Games are hidden by default on Steam, you can change your Steam profile privacy settings:
From your Steam Profile, click the Edit Profile link under your displayed badge
Click the My Privacy Settings tab
Set Game details to Public
Uncheck Always keep my total playtime private option
After changing your privacy settings, it may take at least 5 minutes for SteamDB to clear the cache and see new data. Profile refreshed 4 minutes ago.

I would not recommend doing that because your steam id is not really hidden information.

If you go to that link, you can see the value of your Steam account, but I would not make that info public. People do sell their Steam accounts. Is it a Violation of Steam TOS, I'm not sure.

Selling a Steam account is a violation of the TOS. Knowing how much you've spent on games is not a violation of the TOS. Having an opinion about the value of an account is not a violation of the TOS. An account's value is not directly related to the amount of money you've spent on it.

I took it as home not being sure if selling it is against the ToS.

Though, stating the value will make Valve thing you're trying to sell it.

This topic is fresh.

Valve should be clever about this. All steam accounts should have a (Half-Life) max of 50 years. There after, it should be locked. Licenses are non-transferable.

PS: If a user creates an account at age between 13 to 20 + 50 years of service (Average lifespan 63-70 Years of Age) They should consider themselves lucky.

End of story.

interesting... maybe the life span of any account
should be in relation to the oldest living gamer...

feel free to close my account after 100 years....
unless some new science keeps us playing games longer...

what if science can upload our brains (nuerolink stuff)
to a games server and we can activate and play games forever...

That is why I said to keep the info private because I was unsure, but I figured it violated TOS.

With all due respect, it's not valves business or anyone else's how long they want to game,
And I do believe it should be transferable to blood relatives only, this is a load of Cow patties that Valve can take you're things like the Death Tax in the US. Let the family use, enjoy and have fun after ya are GOA.

Even if you did advertise it, it would be irrelevant anyway as you are not allowed to sell accounts.

Yes, this is true, by advertising, just one valve Dev could make an issue out of it if they wanted?

If I throw 10K in a dumpster, write on that dumpster the amount, then set it on fire, does it have value now?

Same applies here. It doesn't have any value whatsoever. You're just digging info on how much money you've thrown out the window.

Could be. Worst you would get is a temp ban and message getting deleted, like this post of mine right here will probably get for being too bold.

Maybe I'll even get perma-banned. That would actually be a blessing.

The amount of corporate lickspittle I witness here on a daily is not good for my blood pressure.

I would have pegged you for a zoomer, except your account is approaching the halfway point of your proposed cancelation policy. Anyway that's a terrible idea.

Unless it was sarcasm that flew over my head, which happens sometimes. If that's the case, then hah hah.

You can* put your Steam account credentials in your will. That doesn't mean Valve will transfer the account to the new owner. If they get locked out and they can't answer Steam Support's questions, they're out of luck.

*This may be a violation of the SSA but why do you care? You're dead!
