Got a gift from a friend.
Hi, want to know about receiving gift from a friend.

As long that there is no charge back from credit card , and the credit card used is not a stolen/fraud credit card. I am safe right?

Let's say my friend got his account banned not because of payment/credit card issue.

Maybe he got banned for pirating a game (spacewars) or tried to scam someone or other bannable/suspendable offences which have nothing to do with payment. I should be safe with the gift right ?

It's a gift, so yes. Unless it's related to money problems related to that specific gift, you'll be fine and nothing will happen.

To be fair, even if they did a chargeback or so, it's their account being in trouble unless you used to money to get Market items (Assuming they charged back a little past the money hold). If you got Steam games recently after the gift, they'll be removed from you and the left over money taken back. If it's related to Market items, your Steam account will have negative funds and you'll not be able to get anything unless you turn that negative into a positive by adding funds.

As long as you do everything in good faith, you're safe.

Ya I know him personally and I believe he will not do any chargeback which will affect me. He is a very rich person and don't need to do fraud for money anyways.

Just I am afraid one day he do something stupid and get his account suspended and might affect me. I guess that is an unreasonable fear.
