You have exceeded the number of allowed recovery attempts help

so on one of my old accounts i keep getting this error when i try to recover my password
'You have exceeded the number of allowed recovery attempts. Please try again later.'
problem is, i cannot get a steam guard code as the steam is saying my gmail adress is just "@gmail.com" . thats it, just the "@gmail.com", which is obviously not a real gmail adress. is there anything i can do?

Contact steam support directly instead of posting in the forums. They need to help you with this.

It obviously isn't going to show you the entire email address, just the email service it is linked to, that is done at may sites that use some form of account recovery

Did it by chance say ******@gmail?

They obfuscate the name for security reasons.
