Developers punitively banning forum members for critiqing products.. This is still happening and it is an absolute and utter joke.

Dude ask yourself a question. Have any of these threads done anything, anything at all? No. You could keep making these threads until you're 80 years old and your forum/game hub ban would still be there. It's permanent. That means forever.

Move on, because these threads are accomplishing literally zero.

How do you handle major traumatic things in your life? If you can't handle a forum ban, then....

You keep saying this or that will not be tolerated. You can't do anything about it. Is the ban still there? Yes. So saying that such and such won't be tolerated is meaningless as you have no power to change it at all

Thia will actually be my last post in any of your threads, as they are nothing but ranting about deserved punishment.

However, you can keep going and ranting about tyranny when it isn't tyranny in the first place. Rules are followed or there are consequences. I'll bring up the scene in Liar Liar again where Jim Carrey tells his client over the phone to stop breaking the law.

I couldn’t agree more, and don’t forget that the bans can contribute to community wide bans which can stop a customer who spent thousand from editing their own profile just because a third party developer (some of which don’t even sell products on steam anymore but still have forums) decided their feelings were hurt because someone didn’t like the game.

Hold up, I will respond to this one post and then no more. You don't realize how many bans you have to stack to trigger a community ban?

At that point it becomes a you problem for not being able to customize your profile.


Being able to customize your profile has nothing to do with you being a paying customer. As it does not pertain to any games that you buy.

And I speak from experience as far as community bans go - I've had four and they've all been removed.

There's also a big difference in saying you don't like a game and being totally belligerent and raging about it.

Developers removing toxicity from their forums is as far removed from being toxic as you can get. Other moderators allowing toxicity to fester throughout the community as a whole has a more noticeable impact.

That is the only undeniable fact here.

If backlash causing things to change was a common event, Microtransactions would be dead, lootboxes would be dead, pay to win would be dead. EA games would be good, Activision would be more creative. Bethesda wouldn't be Bugthesda... I could go on.

look on the bright side, if you develop a game some day you can pre-emptively ban them from attending, and you can have a ban standoff like the spiderman meme where you're all pointing at eachother.
