1. These are the 'rules' that CDPR expressed to me in an email: criticism is totally allowed on our boards - as long as your post doesn't violate any rules (isn't political, insulting, rude etc.), it's totally okay to criticize our games and anything we do
2. Go back and read the reviews I quoted - where in any of the content are any of these 'rules' violated?
3. I have every right to express my discontent as I see fit. You are not a moderator and 'backseat moderation' is against the rules - so I would suggest you stop dictating to me what I can and cannot discuss here: that is for someone else, not you, to decide
I have read back over the email I received from CDPR and my blood is boiling over the deceit.
They actually tried to frame their community mod as some beacon of high professionalism - this is a guy who (look up his post history) offers a little 'quip'/smart remark to users as a 'send off' when he shuts down some content that triggers him.
He cherry-picked one sentence out of dozens - which itself was innocuous sarcasm - to insidiously frame the entire content as 'against the rules', knowing full well that it was a lie.
Then they lie about further deleted content, saying it was 'repeated'. Even in the opening of the follow-up post, it was expressed that the line the mod was referring to was deleted - the rest was heavily doctored to be more neutral in tone.
Then they maliciously perma-ban to silence someone they know had valid points against a shoddy expensive product, to protect themselves from 'negative press'.
What can I say here - what are the words for this?
I know CDPR lied to a lot of people about what would be delivered in Cyperpunk V1. False marketing and broken promises abound.
But it seems lying their way out of everything is their response to anything that might damage their finances.
An absolutely sickening company.
Not remotely surprised. There is no way that Phantom Liberty DLC was written or designed by the same team behind TW3 and Cypberpunk itself.
Not going anywhere near this evil company's future products.
What still strikes me as incredible is the thuggish 'hit job' that occurred here - the cack-handed scramble to cover up all the valid negative critique and then not just 'silence' the author but vehemently throw insults in an email.
I won't quote the full content here, but I am shocked as to how they wrote back. Even if I did break a rule, the anger from them is off the charts.
Do they think I'm some former dev?
Must be the case. This was 'personal' - no question about it.
beyond that, nobody owes you a public place to complain in
there are many others for you to go to
not owned by the people that make the game
that will let you tell people how you feel
just an fyi
those will have rules as well
and the owners can kick you out for any reason they want
They are not useful. Personally, i would have refunded it, not to mention that failed game i knew not to go anywhere near, and not give them my money.
Is standup comedy 'rude' as well? You are allowed to make 'light jokes' of something that is clearly crap.
Jokes are part of being human and make life enjoyable - good luck with your crusade to remove them because they made something you possibly endorsed look stupid.
Either way, the tone of the review is overwhelmingly objective. No politics added. That rubbish voice acting can be found on any youtube channel. That is the main issue here: the voice actors hated these lines, and rightly so. Abysmal writing versus the main game. Like some giddy, never-experienced-real-life teenager was hired to write it, and given free reign to write what they want while being impervious to any 'feedback' from any source.
Man, I wish.
The base game was so well-made, I could not have imagined what was up ahead with this DLC.
The first overwritten engagement with the police outside the Dogtown gates struck me as way off (the female cop drops so many f-bombs that the strain of the try-hard-edge can physically be felt). But I kept going fueled by the goodwill the core writers instilled in me.
Then slowly, slowly it was revealed that this was not the team who made the base game.
By then, you're beyond the 2 hours.
Also, there are some good mechanics they added in the DLC that, without them, you're lacking in the base game.
Not that I ever want to start this up again.
So much lying and craftiness and all-out 'we're so big we can get away with anything' evil from their hired hitmen.
This is like what you get from criminality. This level of deceit and slyness.
i would have removed that as well
again
you are not owed a place to complain publicly
if you cannot write a review or complaint without casting those aspersions
no matter that you choose to call it comedy
you deserved the ban
Yeah you really convinced me of that by deconstructing the review I wrote as acerbic, antisocial, unhinged and deluded.
As a result, I'm going to edit my Steam review to state 'I was not screwed over by CDPR's mod team and they appear to be completely normal, civil, balanced people'.
Also, welcome to being blocked.
Cheers.
People can complain as much as they damn well please. Just not on their hubs. And did exactly that with their wallets, gaming sites and most of all social media.
And so idt it's any secret to CD Project, their game the flop of a generation.
Idk what else needs to be said then their layoffs didn't say to themselves.
